FA Cup preview: Burnley v Fleetwood Town
Fleetwood Town are set to face Championship leaders Burnley in the Fifth Round of the Emirates FA Cup at Turf Moor on Wednesday night and we have all the information you need ahead of the tie.

BURNLEY
Vincent Kompany’s Clarets have had quite a lot to shout about so far this season, with being 12 points clear atop the Championship table, playing some exciting football with a pretty much brand-new squad under Kompany and breezing their way through any opponent that face them. Burnley’s last game was a 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town and are unbeaten in 14 games in all competitions.
Not many teams in the country are coming close to playing as well as Burnley so far this season, with each game passing by it has seemed a case of who can beat them. However, they came close to being knocked out of the FA Cup in the last round against Ipswich Town.
The Clarets travelled to Portman Road and came away with a 0-0 draw, needing a replay to beat League One’s third placed side. To get to Round Five where the Cods await Burnley, as well as Ipswich they defeated Premier League side Bournemouth in Round Three.
FLEETWOOD TOWN
It isn’t just the Championship leaders having a rich vein of form having won four of the last five, being unbeaten in their last six in all competitions. Scott Brown’s sides good run continued at the weekend as Town got the better of Morecambe in a 1-0 win. Carlos Mendes Gomes was the scorer in that game as he bagged his sixth goal of the season for the Cods.
That man will also be the player Brown will look to on Wednesday night with fellow forwards Jack Marriott and Jayden Stockley both being cup tied after their recent moves from Peterborough and Charlton respectively.
Like Burnley, Fleetwood needed a replay against fellow League One side Sheffield Wednesday to reach this round but beat Queens Park Rangers, Oxford City and Ebbsfleet United prior to that.
Wednesday night will be the first time Fleetwood will play a Fifth Round FA Cup game, coming up against Burnley - who won this competition all the way back in 1913. For Town, it will be a huge occasion and made even better with the 1,700 supporters making the trip across Lancashire to Turf Moor.
WHAT THE MANAGER HAD TO SAY REGARDING THE GAME
Brown spoke to press ahead of Wednesday’s tie and labelled the game as ‘exceptional’ and said his team need to go and ‘enjoy the moment.’
“It’s an exceptional game to look forward to; first time in the fifth round against the Championship leaders that play unbelievable football possession-based football consistently.
“They always have high intensity and look to lock you in.
“It’s going to be a different challenge, but the lads have got to go out there and enjoy it because it’s phenomenal what they’ve done so far this season in this competition and beyond.
“For us, we’ve just got to go and enjoy the moment, and play as well as we can.
“Vincent has got them working so hard; the big thing for me is that they flow together, as you watch them. They lock teams in, start moves from the back.
“We went away to Ipswich and started poorly in the first 10 minutes of the game, but then we completed very well.
"For us to go and put up a draw against this team that held Burnley at their place and forced them into a close game at Turf Moor as well, we’ve got to take a lot from that.”
AWAY FANS INFORMATION
Turnstiles will open at 6pm for fans to enter the stadium. The club will put in place a road closure outside the stadium effective from 5.30pm, so please make sure if you're driving you are aware of these closures.
Burnley Football Club is a cashless stadium. Supporters will be searched before entering the stadium.
At the bottom of this article is a map of the stadium for you to view. Burnley do have a fanzone that is welcoming of all supporters, and that will be open from 4:30pm.
The fanzone serves Carlsberg and San Miguel plus all your usual soft drinks. It will also be selling Papa Johns pizzas, with loads of children’s activities taking place throughout the evening.
Official Supporters Coaches are able to park free of charge.

Burnley Football Club do have a more designated away fan pub, which is located at Burnley Cricket Club. The address for this is Belvedere Road, Burnley, Lancashire, BB10 4BN. There is also parking here for some supporters too.
