Britain’s Got Talent: Kent singer awarded golden buzzer

Britain's Got Talent

An artist from Kent has achieved a highly sought-after "golden buzzer" recognition on the television show, Britain's Got Talent.

Sydnie Christmas encountered a challenging situation when judge Simon Cowell expressed his dislike towards her selected song - Tomorrow from the musical Annie.

However, all four judges of the 17th series of the ITV show gave the 28-year-old a standing ovation in the first episode.

Another judge on the panel, Amanda Holden, expressed her admiration for the performance by stating that it was the most outstanding rendition of the song she had ever come across. She then proceeded to press the golden buzzer, signifying her decision to advance the performer to the next round of the competition.

Ms. Christmas, who joyously dropped to the ground in excitement, shared that she had relocated from Kent to London and presently has a job at a fitness center. However, her lifelong aspiration was to showcase her talents on the illustrious West End stage.

According to Cowell, the response from the spectators was "unusual".

We all know how difficult it can be to achieve success in what we are passionate about. You truly deserve the accomplishment you just reached. Your level of skill and precision was truly impressive," he expressed.

In the past, I had a strong dislike for that particular song; however, presently, it has become one of my absolute favorites.

Holden expressed that what impressed him greatly about you is your innate humor, charisma, and intellect that you displayed immediately upon entering the stage.

"You had been keeping everyone amused, and suddenly you presented us with an exceptionally sincere and lovely rendition of that tune."

The person who comes out on top in the series will earn a cash prize of £250,000 and get to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.
