The initial installment of the second season of Beyond Paradise provided an intriguing mystery for audience members to solve. Kris Marshall's character, Humphrey, worked as a detective and attempted to solve a murder during a train ride that functioned as a murder-mystery event.

People immediately started making connections to Agatha Christie's works when they watched the show. Since the story takes place on a train, everyone thought of the classic Poirot tale Murder on the Orient Express. Additionally, the ending of the story pays homage to the classic book. Bear in mind that there may be spoilers in the following text.

Who? What? Why? – Exploring The Basics

In the second installment of the Beyond Paradise series by BBC, Kris Marshall plays the role of Humphrey Goodman.

In the latest tale of Beyond Paradise, we see Humphrey embarking on a mission to unravel the enigmatic homicide mystery surrounding the late Paul Yellen (Adam Fogerty). Yellen was initially part of the theatrical murder scene, but shockingly, his actual demise occurred during the preliminary stages of the episode.

During the examination, Humphrey was puzzled by a particular aspect of the offense. Although Paul was viciously attacked with a knife in his back, there was no blood visible within his vicinity. This raised a question- how was such a situation even possible?

In the end, it was discovered that Paul had already passed away before being stabbed. This was because he had been poisoned beforehand with curare, a toxin derived from plants commonly utilized in South America for creating lethal darts.

Similar to the plot of Murder on the Orient Express, there was more than a single perpetrator involved in the crime, and individuals on Twitter were prompt to draw parallels.

It turns out the punch thrown during the fitting was the cause of death, not the fake knife. It's quite a sad situation when someone is killed twice, indicating just how disliked they must have been. #BeyondParadise

Instead of numerous attackers like in Christie's 1934 tale, Beyond Paradise only featured two murderers, yet the references to Murder on the Orient Express were easily recognizable.

What Else Occurred On Beyond Paradise?

In series 2 of Beyond Paradise, Sally Bretton made a comeback in the role of Martha, which was produced by BBC.

In the beginning of the episode, we had the opportunity to witness Humphrey and Martha (played by Sally Bretton) have a pleasant evening together, during which they talked about their desire to foster a child together. This is a very intimate plotline for Kris Marshall and will continue throughout the second season.

In other places, the performance received accolades for the touching aspects of the main homicide plot, which ultimately centered around parents coping with their son's severe injury caused by a drunk motorist.

You can catch the show Beyond Paradise back on BBC One on Friday the 29th of March, airing at 9pm.

The squad of Beyond Paradise is currently dealing with a significant danger to their existence during the second season.

According to Kris Marshall, bringing back DI Humphrey to the show feels very comfortable and familiar, almost like putting on a well-worn pair of slippers.

Fans of Death in Paradise are concerned about the departure of Ralf Little from the TV series following an unexpected turn of events.
