Spanish winemaker wins award for being among first to utilise only renewable energy sources

The foremost accolade at The Sustainability Awards in Spain was bestowed upon Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos, a winery located in Spain. This notable recognition cements the company's position as the top food and drink producer in the country.

They obtained the wreath by being among the pioneers in obtaining Carbon Neutral certification and employing exclusively renewable energy in all their locations throughout Spain.

While giving his acceptance speech, CEO Gonzalo Entrecanales praised the dedication of his company towards sustainability.

He stated that, since our company has a strong foundation in sustainability, we must honor our promise to maintain high standards in quality, environmental impact, social responsibility, and ethical conduct.

We also endeavor to increase consumer knowledge concerning the significance of taking into account these aspects when deciding what to buy.

The Forbes - Credit Suisse Sustainability Awards jury, which acted independently, acknowledged Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos' accomplishments up until this point, and in addition, lauded the corporation's new Sustainability Plan.

The scheme comprises of a list of 100 measures that will be put into effect from 2023 till 2027, encompassing different domains such as ecological campaigns, communal behaviors, and company management.

The company called Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos runs vineyards and wineries in different parts of Spain, including those in Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, and Valdeorras. They have more than 400 hectares of vineyards.
