Michael Culver, who starred in both the Star Wars and James Bond franchises, has passed away at the age of 85.

Captain Lorth Needa appeared in the famous 1980 Star Wars movie The Empire Strikes Back and was tragically killed by the evil Darth Vader.

His agent referred to him as a "traditional English performer," and he additionally had two minor parts in James Bond flicks, but as time passed, he transformed into a zealous political dissident.

Today it was revealed by Mr. Culver's agency that he passed away at his residence on the 27th of February.

Thomas Bowington, who represents the actor, expressed his admiration for him while speaking with Sky News. He mentioned that although the role in Star Wars may have been one of the actor's most minor parts, it ended up having a major impact on his life.

He was an important member of society, not as flashy as a celebrity like Michael Caine, but his work always met the highest standards.

He consistently met expectations by delivering excellent performances. He was a quintessential English actor with a versatile range to portray various roles.

"He had a traditional approach, consistently punctual, dedicated, and organized. A complete expert. The theatrics were strictly limited to the stage and screen."

The blog post mentioned how Mr Bowington brought up Mr Culver's strong desire for politics. If it wasn't for his father, the late stage actor Ronald Culver, who inspired him to pursue a career in acting, Mr Culver may have become a politician.

In addition to his role in Star Wars, Mr. Culver acted in two James Bond films, namely From Russia With Love and Thunderball.

In the closing sequence of the second installment of the James Bond franchise, From Russia With Love, a gondola can be seen gliding past as Sean Connery and Daniela Bianchi engage in a romantic kiss. The occupant of the gondola is Mr. Culver.

In addition, Mr Culver made an appearance in one instalment of the ITV show Sherlock Holmes, a movie adaptation of E M Forster's novel A Passage To India from 1984, and a television series of Persuasion from the 1970s that was based on Jane Austen's book.

He was also involved in numerous performances on the stage during his career.

Alliance Agents shared in a declaration: "It has been an immense privilege to have been the representatives of Michael over the past ten years, as well as having the pleasure of taking him to a number of the most notable Star Wars happenings throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.

One of the biggest moments for me was when I brought Michael to Celebration in Chicago back in 2019. When he laid his eyes on the line of almost 200 fans who were eagerly waiting to meet him, he was completely speechless.

We collaborated with Michael only three weeks ago during his previous home signing event alongside our acquaintances from Elite Signatures."
