Reaction: Michael Beale departs Sunderland

Michael Beale

Sunderland's Head Coach, Michael Beale, has departed after only overseeing a total of twelve games. What options are available to us now?

What has led to this? Has the fans' immediate dislike of him been a factor? Or is it due to unsatisfactory results? Perhaps the players spoke to the owners about their concerns. It's not entirely fair to be fired for achieving 14 points in 11 games, but neither was it fair to let go of Mowbray.

A big part of me sympathizes with Beale because it seems like he's been set up for failure since the beginning - it's likely that he was forced out of his position. Nobody, including myself whom I have already stated, supported his appointment. He didn't make any positive changes and it was clear that he wasn't capable of handling the responsibilities that came with being in charge of the club. Despite this, the way some individuals have launched personal attacks against him and continuously criticized him is completely unacceptable.

It's vital that Speakman, KLD, and their team ensure that the upcoming appointment is successful. Removing managers is an expensive move that wouldn't contribute towards maintaining consistency or squad cohesion. If they make a mistake with this appointment, it's uncertain whether some fans will have any other outlet for their frustrations and outrage.

Perhaps it would be beneficial if they attend a game of carpet bowls to divert their attention away from the matter at hand.

To be honest, it's not unexpected. I've always believed in giving a manager or head coach ample time to prove themselves. Even with Beale, I would still recommend waiting until they've had around twelve matches to evaluate their performance.

There has always been a nagging feeling that something was off about this appointment, and it's safe to say that things have gone awry.

In my opinion, the choice to make a change in leadership was not solely determined by the team's outcomes and achievements. Beale's attitude has also played a role, as there were moments where he displayed a negative attitude. Additionally, the recent incident with Trai Hume left many confused and unsure of Beale's ability to effectively manage his team.

Sunderland's lack of popularity towards Beale indicates that the team has opted to prematurely end this experiment.

If the top dogs of the organization have aspirations of moving up the ranks this season, it all depends on who replaces Beale. It's likely that Mike Dodds will take over and work towards improvement in the future.

I feel sorry for Michael Beale as an individual, but I don't feel much compassion for him as the head coach.

In reality, our team hasn't made any progress since he started leading us. In fact, it's possible to make a strong case that we've actually regressed.

There's not much to credit him for besides having Clarke's assistance and three center forward goals. Anything else would be stretching the truth.

Ultimately, the loss in the derby, remarks about "outside noise", and the infamous Hume handshake were probably the reasons for his downfall. These incidents were shameful marks on his record. Whether or not it was fair, every little thing he did was scrutinized, and when combined with his team's disappointing outcome and unsatisfactory performances, it was clear he wouldn't last at the club for long.

If we managed to score four or six points this week, there's a good chance that Mike Dodds could have secured a job here in August. However, considering we didn't achieve that, it seems like he will continue to be responsible for the team for a while.

Hopefully, we can soon leave this situation in the past and resume the pleasure of watching the team play.

I sympathize with him as he was not to blame, when he was entrusted with a responsibility he may have struggled to fulfill due to the emotional weight still lingering from his tenure at Rangers.

Beale was experiencing a significant decline in his managerial performance. What's more concerning is that the team's playing style didn't match the players' abilities and the club's values. Using this approach inevitably leads to unsatisfactory results, which unfortunately happened to Beale.

The people in charge cannot dodge blame for this situation as they took a big risk by appointing Beale, and now that decision is causing a lot of unhappiness. This means that KLD and Speakman must make certain they hire the right person for the following season because they cannot handle any more back-to-back failures.

It's truly disheartening to see how expected and inevitable all of this is.

From a humane perspective, one cannot help but empathize with him.

The meeting seemed illogical and he entered a group of supporters who were unenthusiastic about him - which was not his responsibility.

He didn't do himself any favors during his initial press conferences, his style of football is uninteresting, and unfortunately, things have not gone well for him.

I have a strong desire that he can revamp his profession, but it was a futile effort to achieve it while playing for Sunderland.

It's no shocker. Fans didn't approve of his appointment and with every loss, his position was heavily scrutinized.

The performances have been inadequate. The decision did not benefit anyone involved and highlighted an error made by the club.

I hope for his success in the future since he has gained a lot of respect in the coaching field.

I must admit that I am caught off guard by this.

Although many people desired it, I didn't expect it to happen until the conclusion of the season.

I believe it's not a positive reflection on the overall reputation of the club.

He faced a difficult struggle right from the start when he entered, which was worsened by the language he used.

The highlight of the weekend may have been the controversy surrounding Hume.

I am unsure which path we will choose, but I desire that we act promptly to minimize the disturbance.

Although it goes against the wishes of multiple Sunderland supporters to end the cycle of rotating managers and coaches, it is not an incredibly unexpected development.

Someone informed me that the way he played throughout his time was just as inadequate as the equivalent number of matches that caused Mowbray to be fired.

Initially, I had a positive attitude towards Beale and was open to giving him a fair opportunity. However, the recent week has presented a significant decline in his performance levels, particularly in the two games played away from home. This has caused me to doubt his ability to meet our requirements as anticipated.

It's not surprising that this happened if our main focus is on performance.

I hope he does well. Although, some may disagree that he was the suitable candidate for the position, I had hoped he would disprove their doubts.

The departure of the individual implies that the important people lack trust.

Best of luck to you Michael, this position may not be suitable for everyone, however, I sincerely wish that the upcoming announcement is a perfect fit for both the coach and the organization.
