Kai Widdrington, who partnered with Angela Rippon on Strictly Come Dancing, has spoken about their departure from the program on Sunday, November 19th. The pair completed a tumultuous 10-week journey together.

At the conclusion of the performances for "Blackpool Week" on Saturday night (November 18), Rippon, who is 79, was once again in the bottom two of the leaderboard, marking the third week in a row.

On Sunday, the experienced news anchor left the program after the panel of Strictly judges, which includes Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton DuBeke, all agreed to keep EastEnders performer Bobby Brazier in the competition.

Widdrington, who had previously upheld Rippon's honesty regarding accusations that her participation in the show was predetermined because of her association with Strictly, expressed his admiration for his dance partner on social media following their elimination, with an emotionally charged message.

On Instagram, the 28-year-old person in charge of creating the dance steps, expressed their excitement over the fantastic 10 weeks they had spent with Angela Rippon, who is widely known as a legend. In their post, they mentioned that they had both promised to put on a great show and they certainly lived up to that promise by impressing everyone with their moves on the dance floor.

He expressed his gratitude towards all the supporters who have been with them throughout the journey. He went on to admire Rippon for her unwavering dedication towards the show and how she did not utter a single complaint despite enduring injuries, following a grueling training routine, and performing complicated routines.

Widdrington said: "It was an absolute delight and an honor to dance with you. You showed everyone that age doesn't define ability."

The 2023 season of the show announced its lineup, including Rippon who became the oldest contestant in the history of the show.

During her first performance, Rippon made an incredible high kick that received a lot of compliments from her fans. However, people watching the show started to assume that Rippon was being protected from elimination until the highly-awaited "Blackpool week" ended. This was because even though the judges always gave her low ratings, she still managed to stay in the competition.

Kai Widdrington has commented that Angela Rippon gave an incredible performance on Strictly by impressively executing high kicks on the dance floor.

The post emphasized the connection between the English journalist and the BBC, where Rippon first started working as a journalist. It also mentioned her involvement in the program that inspired Strictly, named Come Dancing.

The Strictly insider told The Independent that the judges are very skilled and only assess the dancing on the main show and in the dance offs. They added that claims of any secret plans to manipulate the results are completely false.

Priorly, Widdrington supported Rippon against allegations that the program was "rigged" during an installment of It Takes Two, which is the accompanying show of Strictly.

The professional dancer from Strictly expressed that they accomplished sufficient in the dance-off with Krishnan Guru-Murthy before Blackpool and had a satisfactory score. He added that Rippon deserved to advance to Blackpool.
