The Life of Ismail Haniyeh
Ismail Haniyeh is a prominent Palestinian politician and leader of Hamas since 2017. Born in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza in 1962, Haniyeh was raised in poverty and endured the hardships of living in a conflict zone. Despite this, he excelled academically and went on to graduate with a degree in Arabic literature from the Islamic University of Gaza.
His political career began in the late 1980s where he became an active member of Hamas, rising through the ranks to become the prime minister of the Palestinian National Authority in 2006. Since taking office, he has made great strides in improving the living conditions of Palestinians.
