Young U's Head For Barcelona

Barcelona

The young football players from Oxford United's Under 12 and 13 teams are about to do something new and special for the club. They will be going on an international trip, which is a first for players of their age. They are traveling to Barcelona, and the journey begins on February 8th. This will be an exciting experience for the young athletes.

A group of 37 young players who belong to the academy will embark on a journey to Barcelona in the near future. These players will also be accompanied by 8 staff members. Their purpose for traveling is to participate in two tournaments, namely the FIT Promises Cup and the Carnaval Cup. These competitions will take place from February 8th to February 11th.

Fifteen players from the U13s team are all set to participate in the Carnaval Cup's 10th edition, a prestigious tournament held in Spain. This event is widely revered and is broadcast live across the Spanish television network.

The team from the United Kingdom is the sole representative from their country in the current year's competition. They have been assigned to a group that includes Real Betis, Gimnastic de Tarragona, and C.E. Premia De Dalt, who are serving as the tournament's hosts.

There are other teams that are considered major players in the Spanish soccer league, like Barcelona who are a powerhouse, current champions Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and several others.

The U12 team have selected a group of 22 players to participate in the FIT Promises Cup. They will compete in two 7-a-side teams, competing against some of the world's top football teams, similar to the Carnaval Cup. This is an excellent opportunity for these players to showcase their skills.

During our conversation, Peter Wynne, the coach for the U13 team, informed us.

The entire team, including staff and players, is excited about a special and valuable experience that each player will have. This will be the first international tour for Oxford United Academy at these ages, making it even more exceptional. Everyone is anticipating an incredibly high-quality tournament.
