Osimhen scores on return as Napoli hold Barcelona

Barcelona

In the latest six Champions League games played at Napoli's home, Victor Osimhen has successfully scored six times!

In his initial club game in December, Victor Osimhen made an effort to secure a tie for Napoli as they faced off against Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League's round of sixteen.

In Italy, Robert Lewandowski secured the lead for Barca by shooting a precise ball from the edge of the box and into the bottom corner during the 60th minute.

Barcelona had the upper hand over Napoli in Francesco Calzona's debut as coach, as Napoli struggled with their attacking efforts in the final third of the pitch.

The home team managed to equalize when Osimhen managed to dodge his opponent in the penalty box and shoot the ball past Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

The next portion of the event is set to happen in Barcelona on the 12th of March.

Osimhen was a member of the Nigerian team that was defeated by Ivory Coast in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in February. Due to his suspension, he was unable to participate in his team's most recent league game.

The guests began the game strongly as Lamine Yamal, who is only 16 years old, became the youngest player to participate in the Champions League knockout stage and made progress on the right-hand side.

Xavi's team intensely pushed forward towards the goal, disrupting Napoli's efforts to begin their attack from the rear and neutralizing the home team's capacity to pose a danger.

Alex Meret, the goalkeeper for Napoli, had to make some saves from Yamal and Lewandowski before he did a good job blocking a shot from Ilkay Gundogan from further away.

In Serie A, the Italian team has had extreme difficulty defending their title, as they currently sit in ninth place and are trailing behind the first place team Juventus by 27 points. Due to their poor performance, they decided to replace their previous coach Walter Mazzarri with a new coach, Calzona, who is also the manager of Slovakia. This change was made on Tuesday.

Despite hoping for an immediate improvement, the team showed little sign of progress. In fact, they didn't even attempt a shot during the first half of the game. This was a first for Napoli in the Champions League.

Despite Osimhen's efforts to move towards the opponent's defence, he was frequently on his own as the home team struggled to generate any plays in Barcelona's territory.

Xavi's team, who have struggled in La Liga and trail leaders Real Madrid by eight points, were in control for most of the game. However, Napoli started to improve in the second half and showed more enthusiasm after making some substitutions.

Barcelona initially took the lead with Lewandowski's goal and looked set to win. However, the home team eventually gained momentum and managed to even the score.
