Police to investigate Angela Rayner over residency declaration

Angela Rayner

The police are now conducting a renewed investigation regarding allegations that Angela Rayner may have violated the electoral law by providing untrue details about her place of residence before she became a Member of Parliament.

The Labour Party affirms that Rayner has followed the regulations, and she is open to presenting the information to the police and clearing any doubts.

James Daly, who holds a senior position in the Conservative party, brought to the attention of the Greater Manchester police that some of the neighbours had stated something different from what the deputy leader of the Labour party claimed about her residence. She claimed that the primary residence belonged to her, not her husband.

Daly, a Member of Parliament representing Bury North, informed the authorities that Rayner possibly provided erroneous information in her electoral registry regarding her residency. In addition, there have been inquiries regarding whether she paid the appropriate capital gains taxes for selling her former council residence in 2015.

Rayner purchased her council house located at Vicarage Road, Stockport for £79,000 in January 2007. From 2007 to 2015, she was registered on the electoral roll in that address. She did not sublet the property and was not registered to vote in any other location. Rayner has emphasized that this property was her main home.

Rayner had a previous partner named Mark Rayner who possessed a residence located on Lowndes Lane, approximately one mile from her own property. They made the decision to maintain their own individual properties.

Ashcroft's unauthorized life story states that Rayner changed the registered birth addresses of her two sons with Mark to her husband's residence in 2010. It is not evident what address was recorded on their birth certificates before this amendment.

Back in March of 2015, Rayner earned herself a tidy sum of £48,500 after selling her home for £127,500. She had been residing at this address and was even registered on the electoral roll up until the point when her husband sold his own property in 2016.

Due to the reports, Rayner is now being queried about her residency during the initial five years of her marriage. Electoral regulations mandate that voters must register at their permanent place of dwelling, and giving incorrect details may incur penalties.

The Greater Manchester police (GMP) had originally stated that they would not look into the claims, but they have now started investigating after reviewing the information provided by Daly.

A representative from the Greater Manchester Police stated that they are currently looking into the possibility of any illegal actions that may have taken place. This decision was made after conducting a new review of the details provided by Mr. Daly.

Rayner has stated that she did not violate any rules and that she received legal counsel to back up her stance. Although she would be open to sharing the advice with the police or HMRC, Rayner has declined to make her "personal tax advice" available to the public.

A representative from the Labour Party stated that Angela is happy to present the truth to the police. We firmly believe that Angela has always followed the guidelines and regulations, and it is best to allow the authorities to conduct their investigation.

Former Labour leader Ed Miliband supported Rayner and praised her as a role model and the perfect candidate for politics.

We fully support Angela and have complete faith that she has adhered to the regulations. She is pleased to be able to present the truth. I want to emphasize to everyone that we are extremely proud of Angela Rayner, our second in command. She is a motivating individual, and precisely the sort of person we require in the world of politics.

I'm excited at the prospect of Angela Rayner becoming the deputy prime minister if Labour wins the election. In my opinion, the Conservative party is struggling and doesn't have any significant solutions to tackle the significant challenges that the country is facing.

Keir Starmer, who is the head of the Labour Party, stated that it would be unsuitable for him to have access to Rayner's legal guidance. He also expressed that individuals are more concerned about the issues that have arisen from the current government's actions.

He claimed that the Conservatives were accusing someone of something without any evidence, and stated that Angela Rayner has already responded to numerous inquiries regarding this matter. She has expressed her willingness to cooperate with both the police and any other entities that may request further information.

I don't require access to the legal advice as my team has already reviewed it. However, I want to point out that the A&E figures revealing patients waiting for more than 24 hours have drastically increased over the past five years. In fact, the current figures are 10 times higher than they were five years ago.
