Bayern Munich set to battle Liverpool for Xabi Alonso as Tuchel set to exit

There has been a lot of attention on Tuchel's role as the head coach due to a disappointing streak of performances. The team's record has put them in danger of ending the season without a championship title for the first time in almost a decade.

The CEO of Bayern, Jan-Christian Dreesen, stated that they had a constructive conversation and agreed to part ways in the summer. The aim is to bring in a new coach for the 2024/25 season to restructure the team.

The ex-manager of Chelsea, Tuchel, who became the boss in March of 2023, stated that "we have come to the decision that we will finish our working relationship at the conclusion of this season. Nonetheless, my coaching team and I will persist in putting forth our best efforts to attain the utmost success until that point."

The defeat of Bayern with a score of 3-2 to Bochum on Sunday led to their third consecutive loss, which they have not experienced since 2015.

After losing 3-0 against Bayer Leverkusen - who are currently leading the Bundesliga by eight points - and experiencing a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their Champions League match versus Lazio, the team is in a difficult situation. This is after playing 22 rounds of fixtures.

There are suggestions that Jurgen Klopp, who will depart from Liverpool when the current season ends, and Xabi Alonso, the boss of Leverkusen, are potential replacements for Tuchel at the Allianz Arena.

Alonso, who used to play for Bayern and Liverpool, has been rumored to be a top candidate for the job of succeeding Klopp at Anfield.
