The quest for a new manager for Liverpool has encountered a setback with the announcement that Xabi Alonso is not likely to be considered for the position of replacing Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving at the end of this season.

Alonso was thought to be the most likely person to replace Klopp at Anfield. The German himself said that Alonso was the perfect fit for the job. However, Bayer Leverkusen are confident that they can keep hold of the ex-midfielder.

Leverkusen is close to winning their first Bundesliga championship under Alonso's guidance this season. Bayern Munich is also expected to make efforts to persuade the Spaniard to switch teams, however, it's also expected to be a challenging situation for the German powerhouse.

This implies that Liverpool will need to search for alternative options in their quest to find a replacement for Klopp, who will be resigning his position at the conclusion of the current season.

The situation is quite intricate as Bayern and Barcelona are also in search of new managers during the upcoming summer, and it's possible that Manchester United may also join them.

According to a news article in The Independent from the previous month, Ruben Amorim from Sporting is considered Liverpool's second choice after Alonso, and is known for his savvy tactics. Amorim has done wonders for Sporting by leading them to their first league title in 19 long years in 2021. As a result, many teams are keen to get him on board this summer, including Barcelona and Bayern, making him one of the most sought-after managers currently.

Liverpool may be interested in hiring a manager who has experience in the Premier League, and Roberto De Zerbi, the current manager of Brighton, might be a good choice. De Zerbi's coaching approach is modern and has worked well at Brighton, where he led the team to European competition in his first season. Liverpool's new sporting director, Richard Hughes, is familiar with De Zerbi as he had previously expressed interest in him when he worked at Bournemouth.

The coach from Italy has achieved remarkable feats with Inter by guiding them to the final of the Champions League in the previous season and easily winning the Serie A title in the current campaign. His innovative strategy of playing football freely has gained everyone's attention. He previously worked for Lazio and is related to Filippo Inzaghi who used to be a striker for Milan. So far, he hasn't accepted any job offers from outside Italy.

Really? It appears improbable that Ange Postecoglou will depart from Tottenham despite having achieved early success in London. However, given that he was raised as a Liverpool supporter and has excelled in numerous positions throughout his extensive and diverse career, it's not entirely impossible. He rejected the notion of taking on the Liverpool job earlier this season and maintains that he still has much to accomplish with Tottenham, only having been there for seven months. All things considered, I believe his statement speaks for itself.

Julian Nagelsmann has been rumored to make a jump to the Premier League as he has taken over control of Germany. He was once considered the best coaching talent in European football after achieving success with Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig. However, towards the end of his tenure at Bayern Munich, things went awry and the situation turned sour.

Thomas Tuchel might have had a difficult time at Bayern Munich, but he's still a highly skilled coach. He's demonstrated his abilities in England by guiding Chelsea to victory in the Champions League. This summer, he will be open to new opportunities. The same goes for Zinedine Zidane, who always seems to be linked to any significant coaching position around the world. Zidane has yet to take on a new position after his impressive accomplishments at Real Madrid.

Thomas Frank, the manager of Brentford, has faced difficulties this season. However, he has done an excellent job in developing the London club over the last few years. He has similar values to Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager. Even though it has been announced that Pep Lijnders, a Liverpool coach, will leave along with Klopp, Thomas Frank could still be considered as a candidate to maintain continuity.
