UK agrees to join Asia's trade club | Daily Sun |

United Kingdom

The United Kingdom has recently agreed to become a member of a trade agreement that includes multiple nations in Asia and the Pacific, such as Japan and Australia.

The CPTPP, although it might sound cumbersome, is essentially a fresh alliance comprising half a billion individuals that the UK will have the opportunity to engage with.

The original members officially endorsed the Pacific trade agreement in March of 2018.

Together, they produce 13% of the global revenue.

The United Kingdom has become the initial non-founder nation to be part of this alliance, positioning itself as the second-largest economy within the group following Japan. As a result, the total value of this new coalition amounts to a staggering £11 trillion.

The United Kingdom had already established agreements with most of these countries during its time as a member of the European Union, and these agreements have now been transferred.

Since the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union (Brexit), it has incorporated Australia and New Zealand into its roster of trade agreements.
