Edible Oil Analyst James Fry Quits Amid Acquisition

James Fry, a notable edible oil expert in the palm oil industry, has stepped down from LMC International. The company was recently purchased by a UK-based information services firm. Fry has been a longstanding figure in the palm oil community.

Fry used to be LMC's chairman. He resigned. He didn't want to talk about it because of how he left. He confirmed this to Reuters.

GlobalData acquired LMC in December 2021. The acquisition is aimed at expanding the company's sector coverage and intelligence capabilities.

LMC was started by Fry in 1980, and it works on agriculture and agribusiness. There are offices in Oxford, New York, and Kuala Lumpur.

Fry spoke at big oil conferences, as a main speaker. He played a big part in the consultancy's research. People paid attention to his price predictions and market analysis.
