Its history dates back to the 12th century, with iconic figures such as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, who fought for Scotland's independence from England. Scotland's Famous Traditions and Cuisine
Scotland is rich in tradition and famous for its cuisine. Visitors can try haggis, a traditional Scottish dish made with sheep's heart, liver and lungs, combined with onions, oatmeal and spices. Another Scottish tradition is the annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where thousands of artists and performers come together to showcase their talents in the fields of theatre, comedy, and music. Scotland's whiskey industry is also world-renowned, with visitors able to take tours and try some of the finest whiskies from Scotland's many distilleries.
