A lady from Utah who managed a well-known YouTube channel providing parenting tips has accepted guilt for four charges related to severe abuse of kids.

Ruby Franke, a 41-year-old woman, had reached an agreement with prosecutors where she admitted to starving and mistreating her children. These accusations arose after her son managed to flee from their home in Utah.

Franke expressed her remorse and sadness for her family and children while admitting her guilt.

She is going to give a testimony against her previous business associate and co-worker.

The ex-YouTuber, who used to have over 2 million followers on her parenting blog, appeared in court on Monday dressed in a prison outfit with white and grey stripes to plead guilty.

Franke has a court hearing on February 20th, 2024 where her fate will be determined.

In August, she was taken into custody at the residence of her previous business associate, Jodi Hildebrandt. This happened subsequent to her underfed son fleeing from their dwelling in Ivins, Utah. The youngster requested sustenance and fluids from a neighbour.

A woman named Ms. Hildebrandt, aged 54, was taken into custody for allegedly mistreating a child. A counselor and life coach, Ms. Hildebrandt, runs a website, ConneXions Classroom, where Franke was featured in YouTube videos.

Franke's lawyer released a statement to the media in the United States, claiming that Ms. Hildebrandt was responsible for leading Franke in the wrong direction.

Winward Law stated that Ms Hildebrandt isolated Ruby Franke from her extended family, older children, and husband, Kevin Franke, for a long time. This continuous separation led to Ms Franke experiencing a distorted sense of morality.

The lawyer of Ms. Hildebrandt, Winward Law, and the prosecutor have not yet given a comment despite being asked.

According to records from the court, Franke's son, who is 12 years old, stated to the officers that Ms Hildebrandt had tied ropes around his ankles and wrists just before he managed to flee her house in August.

According to officials, the boy had to be hospitalized as a result of his severe cuts caused by being bound with rope and his lack of proper nutrition.

After authorities were alerted, Franke's daughter, who happens to be her second child, was discovered to be undernourished and had to be brought to a hospital for medical attention. As a result, all four of her kids were placed in state custody.

In 2015, Franke gained a following on YouTube for her channel, 8 Passengers, where she shared insights on raising her six kids. However, her channel was removed earlier this year.

As Franke gained popularity, she received criticism for her tough approach to parenting. She admitted to using food deprivation as a way to discipline her children, and her son alleged that he had been forced to sleep on a bean bag chair for several months as a form of punishment.
