The show centers around Dr. Matthew Nolan, portrayed by Richard Armitage. He is sent from the United Kingdom to Beijing to account for the passing of a woman discovered in the remains of his vehicle.

In the new movie, Argylle, the character of Hana Li is portrayed by Jing Lusi, a police officer of Chinese-British origin. Her duty is to accompany a person named Nolan during a late-night flight, but things get complicated when they realize that some people aboard the plane are not who they claim to be. The plot of the movie involves solving a mystery and exposing a conspiracy, and Hana and Nolan team up to fight crime together, making for an interesting storyline.

The initial episode was broadcasted on Sunday night (April 21). The viewers didn't hesitate to point out the inaccuracies in the plot, specifically the unorganized extradition of Dr Nolan that occurred within a short span of time. Adding to that, he also didn't receive any legal aid.

I believe that we are supposed to disregard the laws of extradition and an individual's entitlements to watch this, expressed a viewer on X/Twitter.

Another person commented, "There are numerous violations of legal principles taking place in this situation. It seems rather absurd. However, we must keep in mind that this is a work of fiction, isn't it?"

A particular individual confessed that they are having a difficult time enjoying #RedEye due to the absence of any lawful credibility in the storyline.

Why must these modern "dramas" be so far from reality? Everything we have just witnessed is impossible. Do they assume we lack intelligence?

Another watcher came to the conclusion that "This is completely incorrect. Did anyone conduct any research?"

However, some people joined the argument to remind the audience to not analyze small details in the story.

"Why do individuals have to analyze every aspect of a fictional drama instead of just allowing themselves to enjoy the story?" was the statement made. "It's not a factual account, it's a work of fiction! Stop scrutinizing every tiny detail and just savor the tale! This is the greatest thing that has been broadcasted in the past few weeks!"

The TV critic, Nick Hilton, mentioned in his review for The Independent that "red eye" is a phrase commonly used to refer to short-distance flights that leave at night and arrive in the morning. He gave the reviewed show a rating of two stars.

The author of the blog post shares that the new ITV six-part thriller team believes that their show can be applied to flights from Heathrow to Beijing, even if it takes 10 hours and has a seven-hour time difference. However, the author finds this claim to be untrue and thinks that the lack of attention to detail is not the most absurd aspect of the show.

Hilton's final thoughts on Red Eye are that the movie is decent enough to watch, but overall, it's completely ridiculous.

The TV show Red Eye is still being broadcasted on Sunday evenings at 9pm on both ITV1 and ITVX.
