Real Madrid Reaches Verbal Agreement With Alphonso Davies After Bayern Munich Names Price, Reports MARCA

Real Madrid is prepared to discuss the possibility of acquiring Alphonso Davies after successfully wrapping up the transfer of Kylian Mbappe.

According to undisclosed sources from MARCA, it has been reported that Real Madrid is now making arrangements to finalize the transfer of Alphonso Davies after allegedly securing Kylian Mbappe's transfer.

As per The Athletic, who has cited unidentified sources, Davies' representatives and Real Madrid have verbally agreed to sign a contract which will allow him to become a part of the team by 2024/2025.

According to MARCA, a newspaper from Spain, Davies' team Bayern Munich has accepted that their right back will leave for Los Blancos after a meeting with his representative. They have also decided on a certain amount of money that they would be willing to receive in exchange for his departure.

If the Canadian player's contract were extended beyond 2025, he would likely have a higher value compared to being out of contract.

Under present conditions, the Bavarians are willing to receive a reduced payment of $54 million (€50 million) from Los Blancos to prevent them from losing the 23-year-old without any compensation after one year.

According to an article from Sky Germany, Bayern and the representatives of Davies, headed by agent Nedal Huoseh, had a meeting in Munich a few days back.

The Bayern Sporting Director, Christopher Freund, came to the decision that despite an attractive yearly offer of $10.8 million (€10 million), Davies is not interested in extending his contract with the Bundesliga champions.

According to a MARCA report, Madrid has been interested in Davies for over a year now. The player has apparently expressed his desire to be a part of Carlo Ancelotti's highly skilled team to his agent.

When negotiations commence, Madrid will initiate with an initial offer of $38 million (equivalent to €35 million) considering the limited time left on Davies' current contractual commitment.

As per MARCA, you'll need to cough up €50 million to secure Davies. Nonetheless, some may consider this a steal given that he is one of the finest players in the world in his position as a left back.

The possible arrival of Davies at the Bernabeu could spell trouble for Ferland Mendy, who has his contract expiring in the middle of 2025.

At first, the French player was considered as the future replacement for the iconic club member Marcelo. However, he has faced challenges in staying consistent due to a series of injuries.

Davies is set to be Madrid's second major acquisition of the summer, following Kylian Mbappe, by venturing towards Spain's western region.

According to The Athletic, someone from the same country as Mendy informed Paris Saint-Germain that they will depart from the team without any transfer fees on June 30th.

As reported by MARCA, Mbappe has already signed a contract with Real Madrid that spans five years. Real Madrid has won the Champions League a total of 14 times.
