Premier League round-up: Elijah Adebayo fires Luton out of relegation zone with Brighton win, Everton into bottom three - Eurosport

Premier League

Luton managed to climb out of the Premier League’s relegation zone with the aid of an impressive hat-trick by Elijah Adebayo in their 4-0 victory over Brighton. This victory marks their first time being out of the relegation zone since the beginning of November.

The forward managed to score his first goal in under a minute, and then proceeded to score his second right before halftime. He accomplished a hat-trick by scoring his third goal in the 56th minute.

Chiedozie Ogbene, who plays for Ireland, scored a goal during a remarkable evening at Kenilworth Road.

Rob Edwards' team has achieved their third successive win, with previous victories in the FA Cup against Bolton and Everton. This latest win has also extended their unbeaten streak to five games in all competitions.

This victory marks the Hatters' most significant triumph in the highest league since January 1st, 1989 - the day they crushed Southampton with a score of 6-1.

The outcome benefits Luton, a team that got promoted to the Premier League in the previous summer by winning the Championship play-offs. They have successfully managed to get out of the bottom three group after their loss against Arsenal in the beginning of November.

Everton, who were not able to win against Fulham and had to settle for a 0-0 draw, are the team that replaced Town in the relegation zone.

Everton's performance in the league has been extremely poor lately, as they have been unable to secure a win in their last five matches.

At Craven Cottage, both teams hit the crossbar, but the Blues were only able to direct three shots towards the target as they suffered their third consecutive league game without scoring any goals.

However, Fulham couldn't convert their superiority into goals even though they had possession of the ball for 70% of the match and had taken 25 shots at the goal. Despite making six attempts that challenged Jordan Pickford's goalkeeping skills, they were unable to score.

Currently, they have not won in five consecutive events, which includes elimination from both the FA Cup and League Cup.

Palace Eases Pressure On Hodgson

Meanwhile, Sheffield United faced difficulties as Crystal Palace managed to overcome the obstacles and win 3-2 at Selhurst Park, after trailing behind twice.

Ben Brereton-Diaz alongside James McAtee managed to score two goals during the initial half of the match, which gave the Blades an advantage. However, Eberechi Eze equalized the score by scoring two goals of his own in the 17th and 27th minute.

The Eagles were boosted by their previous success, which carried over into the second half where they ultimately secured only their second victory in 11 league matches. Michael Olise scored just after 60 minutes into the game, sealing their win.

The win helps ease the burden on coach Roy Hodgson, as his team had fallen just four points shy of the relegation zone.

In contrast, the Blades are frustrated with their 16th loss of the season, leading to their position at the bottom of the table.
