Although Manchester United put up a strong performance, it wasn't enough to secure a victory in the derby. Phil Foden scored twice, leading City to claim the victory despite Marcus Rashford's impressive early goal.

Ederson had no choice but to watch Rashford score his sixth goal of the season. This gave United a lead for almost an hour, despite being constantly pressured by the opposing team.

Erling Haaland failed to convert an easy opportunity right before the end of the first half, however, Foden replied with a magnificent goal to tie the score just before the 60-minute mark.

The Blues midfielder, who is a product of their own academy, managed to sneak into the penalty area with only 10 minutes left on the clock and successfully scored another goal. To make matters worse for the Reds, Haaland scored a third goal during injury time. As a result, the Reds experienced their first Premier League defeat in a game that they had been leading at halftime since September 2014.

Rashford loudly cheers in front of the fans who are supporting the away team.

In the first part of the match, Rashford led the way for the Reds to take the lead.

Prior to the start of the match, Ten Hag made it clear that it was crucial for United to dominate the midfield and locate the quick movements of our swift attackers in order to bypass City's advanced defensive line. As a result, Bruno Fernandes began the game in an uncommon role as a false-nine.

Following a few initial defensive actions, the captain advanced the most compared to the other players when Andre Onana passed a lengthy goal-kick to him during the eighth minute.

Fernandes received a pass from Nathan Ake without being in an offside position. He managed to keep the ball from his fellow countryman Ruben Dias and passed it back to Rashford. The latter then fired a powerful shot from 25 yards away that hit the crossbar before going into the goal.

The initial shot that hit the target was the first one taken in the game. This was an excellent opening for the Reds, giving them a foundation to work from.

As predicted, the team in charge remained composed and maintained their possession-based style of play. Foden was then presented with an opportunity to shoot after Silva's precise pass, causing Onana to make a save with his feet, which was expertly executed.

When the game became more intense, Fernandes managed to send the ball to Rashford who unfortunately got tricked by its spin. Luckily, Kyle Walker was able to retrieve it and clear it out. However, Foden made another attempt but was once again stopped by Onana who blocked it with his left hand. It seemed like Foden could have scored and tied the game, but unfortunately it was not meant to be.

The advantage of the Blues using an aggressive playing style was that they left a lot of open areas for United to move into. Rashford may have thought he could've scored another goal, but he mistimed his shot after a pass from Bruno at the far post.

Onana, who was at the opposite side, was having a great time at the Etihad Stadium. He was able to save Rodri's powerful shot by using his hand, just before the end of the first half. People started to think about the break that was soon to come.

Jonny Evans, who hadn't played in an away derby since 2012, did a great job organizing the defense with Raphael Varane. Together, they made it difficult for Haaland to participate in the game. However, Haaland miraculously missed an easy shot and kicked the ball over the goal post.

During the initial 45 minutes, Onana successfully prevented Foden from scoring.

THE 2ND HALF - MANCHESTER CITY AND FODEN RESPOND In the second half of the game, Manchester City and Phil Foden retaliated and managed to turn the game around. The players showed incredible skill and determination as they battled against the opposing team. However, they were ultimately able to secure their victory. The comeback was due to their hard work and perseverance, proving their worth as a team. Foden's contributions were especially impressive, and he proved to be a valuable member of the squad. Overall, the second half was a powerful display of the team's talent and abilities.

It was the perfect timing for the half-time whistle to blow, as we needed a break. When the game restarted, City continued playing with the same energy, and Jeremy Doku took his turn at attempting to score against Onana.

Manchester United required calmness and control while holding onto the ball and, for a short while, they achieved it, which was uplifting. However, the opposing team had managed to score in each of their last 48 matches at home in the top league. At the 56 minute mark, Foden scored an impressive goal with his left foot, tying the game at 1-1 and extending their impressive scoring streak.

Rashford appealed for a penalty when facing a challenge from Kyle Walker while moving forward, but the referee, Andy Madley, did not consider it a problem. In less than a minute, Foden scored a brilliant goal in the upper corner of Onana's net, matching the excellent performance of Rashford on the Three Lions' team.

The game had become completely dominated by one team, with Foden and Kevin De Bruyne leading the attack while the opposing Reds focused on defending their goal and limiting available space on the field.

Bruno Fernandes and fellow Portuguese player Ruben Dias.

There's still a possibility that United can be a menace in the game, mainly because of players like Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho who are on the field. Garnacho expressed concern that he was fouled in the penalty area, but upon review, Ederson did a good job of preventing it by using his feet to tackle the ball.

Pep Guardiola's team was under pressure to take action following Liverpool's recent triumph on Saturday. However, they were struggling to generate scoring chances at the same pace as the beginning of the match. Despite this, Onana, the team's goalkeeper, was able to catch most of the balls that were thrown into our defensive area.

The City team kept on pushing forward, but it was unfortunate that the critical moment occurred with only 10 minutes left in the game. Foden played a quick one-two pass with Julian Alvarez, entered the penalty area, and shot the ball low into the bottom-right corner of the goal.

Ten Hag's team fought hard until the very end, but in the stoppage time, Haaland seized the opportunity when Sofyan Amrabat made a mistake. He skillfully scored the goal, causing United to lose after leading at halftime for the first time since their defeat against Leicester City (5-3) under Louis van Gaal.

United's starting eleven for the match included Onana as the goalkeeper, while Dalot, Varane, Evans, and Lindelof formed the backline. Casemiro and Mainoo started in midfield, but were later replaced by Amrabat and Fernandes. McTominay and Garnacho also played as midfielders, but were substituted by Forson and Rashford. Antony came in for Rashford in the 75th minute.

Some of the members of the team were not fielded for the game. Bayindir, Ogunneye, Eriksen, Collyer, and Amad did not get to play.

The squad line-up for City's recent game included Ederson as the goalkeeper, and Walker, Dias, Stones, and Ake as defenders. The midfielders were Rodri and Silva, while Foden played alongside De Bruyne and Doku. Haaland played as the forward. Bobb was substituted in for Foden in the 90th minute, and Alvarez replaced Doku in the 58th minute.

The players who were not used for this game were Ortega, Gomez, Gvardiol, Akanji, Lewis, Kovacic, and Nunez.

Targets: Foden scored in the 56th and 80th minutes, while Haaland scored in the first minute of injury time.
