Friend MTS, a company that offers solutions for securing video content, recently shared the news that ITV has selected their anti-piracy services. This move is intended to provide ITV with added protection for their valuable content.

ITV will use Friend MTS's 24-hour Global Monitoring service to safeguard its primary linear channels on both broadcast and streaming platforms. These channels are home to top-tier content like the Six Nations Rugby, the FA Cup, England Women's soccer team games, the forthcoming Euro 2024 championship, as well as entertainment hits like The Masked Singer and Celebrity Big Brother, and dramatic offerings like Red Eye and Trigger Point.

With its advanced worldwide tracking system, which incorporates its own unique fingerprinting tech and computerized identification mechanisms, along with a 24-hour operations crew, Friend MTS can identify unlawful video streams on the internet and swiftly take them down. It can also help eliminate corresponding links from major search engines.

Sarah Tierney, who is the Director of Distribution at ITV, stated that ITV is committed to putting an end to piracy. To achieve this goal, they have teamed up with Friend MTS to improve their anti-piracy efforts in the United Kingdom. As part of their plan to improve their broadcasting and streaming services, ITV seeks to expand their reach and also ensure that their audience is protected from the negative effects of pirate websites. Additionally, they plan to meet their contractual obligations with rights holders.

Chris Gibbs, who holds the position of Senior Vice President of Sales at Friend MTS, mentioned that they have observed a significant increase in the number of prominent entertainment companies seeking their assistance to combat piracy and protect their valuable content. He pointed out that their exceptional abilities not only prevent piracy but also guarantee that advertisers reach their target audience, which is essential for businesses that rely on advertisements to generate revenue, such as ITV.
