A survivor of Gary Glitter's sexual abuse has shared her ongoing struggle to find inner tranquility. Despite the passage of time, she still endures the pain of being violated by the singer, whose birth name is Paul Gadd, when she was a child.

ITV's latest documentary, Glitter: The Popstar Paedophile, features a revealing comment from a convicted criminal. This documentary delves into the criminal's rise to fame, the level of abuse he inflicted on young girls while at the peak of his success, and how he continued even after his abuse was exposed. The film also sheds light on the attempted rape of an eight-year-old girl in 1975, the rape of a 12-year-old girl, and the singer's targeting of a third victim who was a teenager and had visited him backstage after a concert.

In the series, one of the victims (who prefers to stay anonymous) has a lawyer who revealed that his client is still undergoing mental struggles as a result of Gadd's abuse. The legal representative retold how the occurrence still haunts her up until the present time. The victim told her lawyer that she is resigned to the fact that she may never find peace from this traumatic experience.

What, How, Why?

The recently released documentary by ITV takes a closer look at the misdeeds of the disgraced musician. One of the victims revealed that the trauma caused by his actions still affects her greatly until today.

During the documentary on ITV, attorney Richard Scorer talked about his client who was sexually violated multiple times by Gadd. Scorer mentioned, "The way he carried out these assaults was especially disgusting and repulsive."

The Scorer stated that the client strongly desires to maintain anonymity while still communicating the type of person the man was. The client expressed her endless distressing thoughts about the situation, explaining how it haunts her and causes recurring nightmares.

In my opinion, it's not uncommon for there to be situations where individuals were unaware or had suspicions but chose to ignore or deny the reality of what was happening.

In the documentary, they looked into different situations against the paedophile who had already been found guilty before. One of the cases they talked about was about an 8-year-old girl, but it was dismissed in 1997 because it took too long to process. Another victim who was raped when she was 14 years old also came forward in 1999 and shared her story with News of the World, but the paedophile was found not guilty.

Richard Scorer, a lawyer, talked about a person he represents who was sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by Gadd. Scorer shared that his client recently disclosed, "I will forever be tormented by these memories and will never find solace."

The person who was harmed expressed extreme sadness that the group of people who judged the case did not find Gadd guilty. Afterward, Gadd was charged again for 54 instances of having inappropriate pictures of young people. Eventually, Gadd admitted to being guilty and was punished by being forced to spend time in jail for four months, but only ended up serving two of those months.

Following his prison release, a documentary investigated Gadd's movements between Cambodia and Vietnam. In Cambodia, there were accusations that he had been engaging in child abuse. Similarly, he was arrested in Vietnam for molesting two girls aged 10 and 13, resulting in a three-year prison sentence.

After being let go from prison, Gadd relocated to the United Kingdom in 2008. In the wake of Jimmy Savile's passing and Operation Yewtree, the performer was scrutinized for three charges, including the tried rape of an 8-year-old young lady. Glitter was discovered responsible of assaulting girls and was condemned to 16 years of imprisonment.

Gadd is presently spending time in jail. Although he was released in February 2023, he was immediately imprisoned again because he was accused of downloading photographs of kids. A board of parole decided in February 2024 that it was not advisable to free him from prison since he was still a hazard. He will remain in jail until the year 2031, serving out his sentence.

"Glitter: Popstar Predator's Other Actions"

At present, Paul Gadd is incarcerated and will remain so for 16 years. The reason for his imprisonment is due to his sexual misconduct towards children.

The documentary showed a disturbing part where Gadd appeared in an interview with Jimmy Savile during the peak of Gary Glitter's fame, as seen in archival footage from 1974.

During the interview, Savile, who was later exposed to have committed sexual abuse against children, inquired Gadd if many young women made a considerable effort to get close to him.

Gadd replied with relief, "Yes, thankfully I make an effort to get close to them as well," then he commented on attempting to locate a person in the vicinity.

Towards the end of the interview, Savile announced his intention to do something on TV that would result in him losing the affection of approximately 14 million young girls. He stated that he would give Mr Glitter to a young girl. With the knowledge of their heinous actions, the conversation is now seen as highly unsettling.
