A fight occurred after the end of the game when Fenerbahçe was commemorating their 3-2 victory.

The security personnel attempted to protect the Fenerbahçe athletes, while the supporters invaded the field.

Infantino condemned the violent episode that took place following the football match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahçe in Turkey, expressing his disapproval of such behaviour both on and off the pitch. The president of FIFA made his views known via a statement shared on social media.

I've mentioned this in the past, and I'll reiterate it once more - in football, every player must be protected and well-protected to participate in the sport that gives happiness to countless individuals throughout the globe.

Infantino urged the appropriate officials to ensure that the principles of respect are adhered to in all aspects. He further stated that the individuals responsible for the appalling incidents that took place in Trabzon should face accountability for their deeds.

After the game, Ali Yerlikaya, the interior minister of Turkey, declared on X that an inquiry had been initiated to determine the individuals who had charged onto the field and started the fight.

On Sunday, the Turkey Football Federation made an announcement that they're working with their agents and government representatives in regards to the incidents that happened before and after the game between Trabzonspor A.Ş. and Fenerbahçe A.Ş. in the Trendyol Super League.

It is never alright when something occurs in the sport of football, which is supposed to promote camaraderie, nonviolence, and unity among players.

The federation made it clear that there should be no uncertainty about the fact that those who are accountable for these events will face criminal consequences to prevent them from happening again once the investigations are finished.

CNN has tried to contact Trabzonspor and Fenerbahçe to get their comments.

After the game, as reported by BBC Sport, Abdullah Avci, the coach of Trabzonspor, expressed his views on the current state of Turkish football. Avci believes that Turkish football is going through a tumultuous phase marked by chaos and high levels of tension, which prevents football from having a positive impact on society.

According to reports, Fenerbahçe's manager Ismail Kartal expressed confusion about the tense atmosphere. He questioned whether they didn't have the right to celebrate and suggested that they needed to push through and be more accepting of one another, exercising common sense.

This is the most recent issue causing trouble for Turkish soccer.

Last December, Faruk Koca, who was the head of the prestigious Turkish football team Ankaragücü, stepped down from his position right after he hit a FIFA-authorized referee right in the face. Lately, we've been hearing news about various demonstrations involving the rulings made by referees.
