According to Meta, they have fixed a problem of a technological nature that was responsible for the temporary shutdown of Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram.

On Tuesday, for approximately two hours, a massive number of people across the globe were not able to get into them.

Individuals attempting to access the webpages and applications came across notifications displaying errors and were incapable of updating their content in the usual manner.

Meta expressed regret to those who were impacted and assured that the issue was sorted out as swiftly as possible.

According to the Downdetector website, there have been disturbances in various nations due to network failures.

Meta is a renowned digital company whose platforms are among the most widespread globally. With Facebook having a staggering three billion monthly active users and Instagram set to reach 1.4 billion users worldwide by the end of this year, the company's influence is undeniable.

Threads, a social media platform that competes with Twitter and was introduced in 2023, also experienced disruptions. WhatsApp, which is also under the ownership of Meta, was not impacted.

Meta encountered its largest service interruption in 2021, for which its founder Mark Zuckerberg issued an apology for the inconvenience inflicted.

Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp, and Instagram platforms experienced a six-hour service outage during that time.
