Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins, the presenters of Good Morning Britain, have expressed their heartwarming support towards Kate Garraway during her husband Derek Draper's critical condition in hospital.

The person who reports the news on the radio or TV is now next to her spouse who is in a critical condition due to a heart attack that happened during his struggle with the harmful consequences of Covid.

During the Monday episode which aired on the 18th of December, the hosts commenced the show by addressing their fellow co-worker.

Hawkins began by saying that they would like to provide an update. Unfortunately, Derek, who is Kate's spouse, is currently in a very serious state of health.

Our thoughts are with Derek, Kate and their entire family, and we’re extending our heartfelt wishes to them.

Madeley stated that the current situation is tough, to which Hawkins responded that it is indeed very challenging. She also sent her love.

The co-presenter of Good Morning Britain has been dedicating her time and effort to taking care of her spouse, who used to work as a political lobbyist. Her husband became ill with Covid back in March 2020 and had to stay in the hospital for an extended period while in a medically induced comatose state.

From that moment onwards, he has needed constant attention and assistance that Garraway, a 56-year-old, and a group of healthcare specialists have been providing.

Kate Garraway, along with her husband Derek Draper and her parents Gordon and Marilyn Garraway, have been awarded the prestigious MBE.

A recent report from The Sun states that Draper, aged 56, experienced a heart attack which has left him in critical condition. Meanwhile, Garraway has reportedly resigned from her television and radio positions for an indefinite amount of time.

According to a source, people are all hoping for a miracle to happen.

Derek had a severe heart attack a few days ago and is now struggling to survive once more.

The news came unexpectedly and was surprising because he had been thriving and was feeling optimistic, anticipating the upcoming holiday season with his loved ones.

This obstacle has dealt a major setback to his family and all those who are concerned about him.

According to the source, Garraway is supporting him constantly and cheering him on throughout his current health challenge.

According to the source, Derek has been in numerous battles and has managed to emerge victorious despite the challenging circumstances.

Kate has been absolutely amazing! She has been supporting her partner while also being a fantastic mother to her children, Darcey and Billy. Additionally, she has been working hard to make sure everyone has a wonderful Christmas together.

The Independent has reached out to Kate Garraway's representatives to provide a statement.

Garraway and Draper tied the knot back in 2005 and have been blessed with two kids: a 17-year-old girl named Darcey and a boy named William, who goes by the nickname "Billy."

In the previous month, Garraway revealed on the TV show Loose Women that Draper had been readmitted to the hospital.

She revealed on an ITV show that he had returned to the hospital but thankfully not for anything too terrible. There has been a lot of scheduling changes and appointments made due to this. She explained that it was related to a situation that began in the previous year, for which he required further treatment.

This is a good hospital experience, but I hope to be discharged soon.

The person in charge of sharing the news has talked extensively about the challenges faced while caring for Draper's condition and the emotional toll it takes on them. At present, Draper is unable to move on his own and requires the assistance of two people to hold him up five times daily, so he can bear any weight.

In September, she informed The Sunday Times that he was extremely unhappy and depressed.

She expressed her opinion that illness can lead to selfish behavior by stripping away one's ability to empathize. She mentioned that her partner becomes very emotional about the stress their situation has caused.

If a person's body is not functioning properly, they cannot focus on anything or anyone else as their brain is occupied with their condition.
