Bristol City has made a comeback to the Women's Super League in the current season as they emerged victorious in the previous Championship competition.

Bristol City secured their first victory of the Women's Super League season after Brooke Aspin scored a crucial header during the second half of their match against West Ham. The game was a riveting encounter with five goals scored in total.

West Ham controlled the beginning of the game and scored the first goal when Viviane Asseyi kicked the ball into the net from the penalty spot because Megan Connolly touched it with her hand.

Their advantage was short-lived, lasting merely five minutes, when Amalie Thestrup jumped the highest within the penalty area to use her head and score from Rachel Furness' well-placed pass.

The guests kept making progress and scored a goal when Ella Powell directed the ball into the net after Mackenzie Arnold knocked away a fancy shot by Amy Rodgers that came her way.

Riko Ueki made sure that both teams were on level terms at halftime by scoring a goal from a pass by her fellow Japanese player, Honoka Hayashi.

Connolly made up for his mistake of causing the penalty in the first half by sending a looping free-kick towards Aspin in the second half. Aspin then scored the third goal for the visiting team through a header.

West Ham could not equalize the score and their opponents almost increased their advantage when Thestrup scored, but unfortunately, the goal was disallowed due to an offside.

The outcome has placed Bristol in the second-to-last position, with a lead of three points over Aston Villa, who have not yet scored any points.

After playing five games, West Ham has earned four points and currently holds the eighth position.
