The USA sees a Nearly Doubled Number of Light-Duty All-Electric Vehicle Models from Model Year 2021 to 2022.

Automotive industry

Here's an interesting fact for this week: as of March 20, 2023, there were almost twice as many light-duty all-electric vehicle models available for purchase than there were just a year prior. The numbers jumped significantly from the year 2021 to 2022.

More and more all-electric vehicles (EVs) that are light-duty are now available to consumers since the first mass market EVs were introduced over ten years ago. There are now almost twice as many models to choose from, with the number of options increasing from 20 in model year 2021 to 38 in 2022. For the first time since 2014, the number of EV models in 2022 has even surpassed the number of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) options.
