Former Scotland rugby captain Stuart Hogg charged by police
The authorities have verified that Stuart Hogg has been accused and taken into custody at the Hawick police station.
Police have revealed that Stuart Hogg, who used to be the captain of Scotland's rugby team, was apprehended and accused after an event that occurred in his birthplace in Hawick during the weekend.
Police officers from the Scottish Borders received a call in the late afternoon on Sunday to attend to a situation where a disturbance was reported.
The 31-year-old individual was brought over to the Hawick police station where he received charges of an alleged offense. After this, he was set free but given a written promise to attend the Jedburgh sheriff court on a future date.
According to a representative from Police Scotland, a document stating any potential criminal acts will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Next week, Mr Hogg is scheduled to participate in a cycling charity event from Scotland to Italy for the benefit of the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. As a former Scottish rugby player who played 100 games and went on three British & Irish Lions tours, Mr Hogg is serving a good cause.
Last summer, a father who has four children suddenly retired from playing rugby. He was given an MBE in the 2024 New Year Honours because of his contributions to the sport of rugby union.
He holds the record for scoring the most tries in Scotland's history. When he played for Glasgow Warriors and Exeter Chiefs, he achieved national and European titles in his club career.
Mr Hogg is a co-owner of FF West End, a restaurant and cocktail bar in Glasgow. He co-owns the establishment with Alastair Kellock, who is also a former Scotland rugby player.
