After a few months of having new management, Twitter is no longer the same. The people who use it the most, such as teachers, writers and politicians, have noticed that the rules, habits and general atmosphere have changed significantly. This has harmed the connections they have carefully developed over the years. We cannot predict how much we will lose from missed opportunities and lost learning.

Numerous extensive research projects have been disrupted due to the unavailability of Twitter's API. The authentication system has been altered, making it easy for individuals to imitate others and difficult to identify trusted sources. The presence of untrue information, cyberbullying, and spam are common occurrences in the absence of an efficient moderation team. When I interact with others, I frequently receive abusive messages, mostly from individuals who identify themselves as fans of Musk. My inbox is overrun with spam. Many prominent researchers either have locked their profiles or left the platform altogether. In my personal experience, I have a love-hate relationship with Twitter, but it has been an essential tool for me to establish my writing career and conduct research. The loss of this platform bears significance.

The Discussion on Launching Startups in the Market

Larry Summers, a renowned economist, has some advice for the tech industry in Silicon Valley. In his latest blog post, he emphasizes the importance of transitioning from a focus on consumer-facing applications to addressing real-world issues. He suggests that tech companies should focus on developing innovative solutions for big and complex problems, such as climate change, healthcare, and education. These challenges require more than just building cool gadgets and software; they require a comprehensive and holistic approach. Summers also warns against the potential negative consequences of technology, such as job displacement and social inequality. He advises tech companies to work collaboratively with policymakers and stakeholders to ensure that their innovations benefit society as a whole. Overall, Summers' message is clear: Silicon Valley needs to shift its focus from short-term gains to long-term benefits for the greater good. By doing so, tech companies can become true pioneers and make a positive impact on the world.
