Shetland, Dog Days among RTS Scotland winners
The Royal Television Society in Scotland has declared the champions of the Program Awards for 2024.
Several individuals took home recognition at the awards ceremony. Phyllis Logan was honored for her outstanding portrayal in the show Shetland. Conor McCarron received the accolade for Best Actor for his remarkable performance in Dog Days, which also received recognition with the Drama Award. The Comedy Award was presented to BBC’s Two Doors Down, Entertainment and Features award went to Designing the Hebrides, and Hamza Yassin was recognized with the On-Screen Personality Award.
Neil Forsyth was awarded the Best Writer trophy for Guilt's third season. The Sound category was won by Vigil's second season. STV News at Six (North) was recognized with the News Award, and Disclosure received the Current Affairs prize.
Talented editor Chris Buckland was honored with the Special Contribution Award for his remarkable work on numerous well-known scripted and unscripted TV programs, such as Guilt, Shetland, Taggart, Cutting Edge, and Take The High Road.
The Chairperson of RTS Scotland, Stephen O'Donnell, expressed his enthusiasm on working in the interesting field of television. He acknowledged the entertainment, knowledge, emotions, and perceptions that TV shows bring to their audience globally.
