Strictly Come Dancing fans frustrated as Nigel Harman "undermarked"
Many viewers of Strictly Come Dancing were not satisfied with the judging panel's decision tonight. They claimed that actor Nigel Harman and his professional partner Katya Jones were "undermarked" for their performance.
During the current week, they demonstrated their dance routine for Couple's Choice, choreographed to Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars. Nigel directed the dance towards his family as a tribute, adding a personal touch.
He described it as a song about love with a poignant lyric that reads, "You are extraordinary just the way you are." When it comes to his own family, particularly his wife Luce and daughter, he finds them to be exceptional just as they are, without the need to change anything. He believes this is a positive and important message that should be shared.
The judges gave the performance very positive feedback, but some viewers were astonished that it only earned a total of 34 points. Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse each gave the performance an 8, which was a kind assessment.
Mabuse gave positive feedback, appreciating the story that both persons had shared. She claimed that she could connect to it and found the movement captivating. Furthermore, Mabuse complimented Nigel's movement, mentioning that he always looks fashionable and effortless while performing, without any uncomfortable moments.
She concluded by stating: "I completely adored every aspect of it."
This is the type of comment that seems deserving of a flawless score, however, unfortunately that was not the outcome.
The judge, Revel Horwood, confessed that the performance didn't impress him very much. He referred to the score being lower than he had anticipated. However, he did mention that the routine was "lovely" in its subtle approach. There was a particular move that was "exquisite," and it created excitement and anticipation for a higher score.

Shirley Ballas mentioned that there were no errors and complimented the "challenging dance moves" that were performed "exceptionally." She rewarded the performance with a score of 9, which was also given by Anton Du Beke. The audience agreed that this rating was fitting.
Some people who use X (previously known as Twitter) suggested that the standards for judging were not consistent. They pointed out a recent dance performed by Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington as an example, claiming that it received a lower level of scrutiny in terms of scoring.
Some people argued that Nigel and Katya have been given lower scores before and this is not a new situation. Fans frequently disagree with the panel's decision.
Even though Nigel and Katya didn't score high in the Strictly Come Dancing competition this week, their remarkable fan following might help them survive the anxious voting process and advance to Blackpool Week.
