As per Vera, Mariah was deeply affected and impacted by Princess Diana's wedding to Prince Charles in 1981. She had also mentioned to Page Six that Mariah felt it was similar to Diana's wedding at Westminster Abbey.

Vera explained that the bride desired an extravagant and romantic wedding with a grand princess-like appearance. The wedding was similar to a fairytale, in terms of its impressive magnitude.

You can easily see the resemblances of the attire chosen by Mariah and Diana. It's not just about the long veils, where Diana's veil was as long as 25 feet; Mariah added a tiara to her outfit and grasped a big bunch of white flowers mixed with green leaves.

Mariah's dress was adorned with pear embellishments on the bodice. The sleeves were puffed and the skirt was voluminous, flaring out at the waist.

Mariah wore her memorable wedding gown more than once. She wore it again in 2005 for her music video 'We Belong Together.' She even joked that she would have burned it if she could.

During her appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live' in 2018, she shared that she had plans to set her wedding dress on fire when she performed 'We Belong Together'. This would have been the dress she had intended on wearing for her own wedding.

Second Wedding Gown

Mariah decided to switch up her style for her wedding to Nick Cannon in 2008, which took place at her estate in the Bahamas. She went for a more understated look by selecting a "simple" slip dress designed by Nile Cmylo.

She shared with People Magazine that her dress was a straightforward design with a sleek cut. The color of the dress started off as off-white and gradually transformed into a faint pink to complement the sand. To complete her look, she wore shoes from the well-known designer Christian Louboutin.

The creator had to quickly modify the dress on the day of the marriage when he found out that Mariah was going to wear it on the beach during the ceremony. Mariah had told her close guests a lie that she would be wearing it for a music video to keep her wedding day private.

Nile recounted to Access Hollywood that he was stopped and informed that the event was an authentic wedding ceremony. After being made aware of this, he returned to the textile shop the following morning and began the process anew, ultimately obtaining more fitting attire.
