Prince Harry returns to UK after King Charles’s cancer diagnosis

Prince Harry rushed to the United Kingdom from California to see King Charles, his father, following the news of the monarch's recent cancer diagnosis. Harry's visit was scheduled as an emergency overnight trip.

Prince Harry arrived at Heathrow Airport in the afternoon, after travelling for 11 hours from Los Angeles. He made the journey alone, without the Duchess of Sussex and their two kids. As he left the airport, he was driven in a black Range Rover by someone else, and he was followed by police for safety.

Afterwards, he was seen at Clarence House which is the London home of the king and queen. King Charles is reportedly taking it easy at Clarence House following his outpatient procedure on Monday to address an unspecified cancer.

A pair of dark SUVs that were observed departing Heathrow airport's exclusive Windsor suite earlier were photographed arriving at the royal home at precisely 2:42 p.m.

After their quick meeting with Harry, Charles and Queen Camilla departed Clarence House and headed to Buckingham Palace. During the short journey, the king acknowledged the crowd of supporters by waving to them. Shortly after, a helicopter was spotted taking off from the palace grounds. It is believed that the couple is en route to Sandringham in Norfolk.

On Monday, Buckingham Palace made a statement that declared the king, who became king 17 months ago, has cancer. This news came after the king received treatment for a non-cancerous enlarged prostate and received a diagnosis about another health issue. Buckingham Palace clarified that the king does not have prostate cancer.

Although Buckingham Palace has not provided any additional information regarding the subtype of cancer or outlook, Rishi Sunak seemed to disclose during a BBC Radio 5 Live interview that the monarch's illness was detected at an early stage.

When questioned about the basis of his statement, No 10 implied that the prime minister was referring to how quickly his medical team intervened, as noted by Buckingham Palace.

King Charles, who is 75 years old, has decided to delay all his public tasks. He has already commenced with his medical treatment done on an outpatient basis, monitored by his group of specialized physicians. According to a source from the palace, the king is generally in good spirits but mildly frustrated that his illness has caused hindrance not only to his plans but also to others.

Harry was last seen with the Windsors during the coronation of the king. He immediately departed after the event, so he could go back home for his son Prince Archie's fourth birthday celebration.

After Harry's visit, people have started to wonder if there's a chance he and his brother, William, could reconcile. It's been said that there's some distance between the two since Harry made accusations against his family during an interview with Oprah. Moreover, he's also been in the news recently for his Netflix documentary and memoir, Spare, both of which came out after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Before Archie was born, there were allegations of racism regarding his skin color. It was said that two high-ranking members of the royal family made those comments. It was also alleged that Kensington Palace lied to defend Prince William against accusations of him bullying Prince Harry and causing him to leave the royal family.

In simple language, Harry said that Charles was envious of Meghan and Kate. He also shared that Charles did not embrace him when he shared the news of Diana's death. He also expressed his belief that the king was not cut out for raising children on his own, though he did try his best.

The duke made a claim that William had used physical force against him and hurled him into a container meant for canines. This altercation stemmed from a disagreement about Meghan. Furthermore, the duke accused William of mocking him about his nervous episodes and, together with Kate, convincing him to don attire inspired by the symbols of the Nazi party at a dress-up event.

Harry stated that in a stressful gathering following the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, Charles implored his sons, saying, "I beg of you, lads. Do not cause me agony in my last years."

The House of Lords has expressed their hopes for the king's speedy recovery. At the start of Tuesday's meeting in the upper chamber, Lord McFall of Alcluith conveyed his sympathy, saying: "We all felt saddened upon learning about the king's illness. I believe every member of this house is thinking of the king and his family, and we eagerly anticipate his complete recovery and return to his duties as soon as possible."

The feelings were supported by shouts of "hear, hear" throughout the building.

On BBC Breakfast, Charles Anson, who used to be the press secretary for the previous queen, said that the present king strongly believed it was his responsibility to inform the public about his illness and its treatment in a general way. However, people should not assume that they will receive regular updates on this matter. Mr. Anson said that the king's decision to make this information public was a reflection of how things are currently done.

He stated that the operations of the nation and the fundamental duties of the monarch are still being carried out smoothly, with the possibility of other relatives taking charge if required.
