on social media between the rapper and his former collaborator, Kanye West. Drake's song seems to contain lyrics targeting West and his family, which led West to respond with a series of tweets accusing him of various betrayals. Drake, in turn, responded with his own tweets, denying any wrongdoing and claiming that West was simply trying to distract from his own issues. The feud has continued to escalate on social media, with fans taking sides and adding fuel to the fire.

A journalist who reports on music related news for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has shared their insights on a particular topic.

Since the beginning of hip-hop, rappers have been exchanging verbal attacks.

This is a common practice within the culture where artists showcase their lyrical abilities and express their dominance through creating numerous iconic "diss tracks", including 2Pac's Hit 'Em Up and Jay-Z's Takeover.

A fresh issue has sparked between three of the most successful hip-hop artists - Drake, Kendrick Lamar and J Cole. This began with a simple lyric that praised their individual achievements.

This is a rundown of everything that has taken place up until now.

Who's In The Game?

Drake, who started out as an actor in Canada, has since become a musician with a unique style that combines rap and R&B. He is known for his emotional music, and has achieved great commercial success as a hip-hop artist in the 21st century. Some of his most popular songs include Hotline Bling, One Dance, and Hold On We're Going Home, which have all reached multi-platinum status.

Kendrick Lamar is a rapper who was born in Compton. He has excellent skills in creating rhymes and has a imaginative way of seeing things, which led him to be called the greatest rapper of his time. He is known for tackling important topics such as police violence, the value of black people, and his own personal battles. He made history in 2018 by being the initial hip-hop artist to obtain the Pulitzer Prize for music.

J Cole hails from Germany but was raised in North Carolina. He was guided by Jay-Z and achieved great popularity with tracks such as Middle Child and Deja Vu. However, he became disillusioned with the aspects of fame and started to create his own music with deeper, more thought-provoking lyrics. This enabled him to achieve even greater success and a devoted fanbase.

Origin Of Beef?

In the song First Person Shooter, J Cole was drawing comparisons between himself and the fellow rappers Drake and Kendrick.

The first idea came from a desire for togetherness, rather than separation.

Drake launched his eighth album titled For All The Dogs in October of the previous year. The album featured a partnership with J Cole on a tune called First Person Shooter.

Cole implied in a certain line that he, Drake and Kendrick are the most important triumvirate of the modern era of hip-hop.

I enjoy it when the top MCs argue and compete with each other. Who among them is the best - is it Kendrick Lamar, Drake, or myself? We are like the founders of a league, the three biggest names in the game.

The tune made its first appearance on the number one spot of the singles chart in the US. This was the thirteenth song that Drake had produced to reach this achievement, while it was the very first time that Cole had accomplished this feat.

Drake accomplished something big by matching Michael Jackson's record for the highest number of singles to reach number one as a male solo artist.

After a week, Taylor Swift's Cruel Summer took the top spot and it appeared as though the incident was over. However, Kendrick had not forgotten and was displeased about it.

Kendrick Lamar's Words?

Kendrick Lamar's reply intensified the situation.

In the beginning of this month, the music artists Metro Boomin' and Future came together to launch a joint album named Like That.

Camouflaged in the list of songs was a verse that wasn't credited to Kendrick Lamar - and it was absolutely mind-blowing.

He passionately criticized Cole's rap in a profanity-laced manner, stating that there was no such thing as a "big three" and that he was the only one who mattered.

He continued to criticize Cole's most impressive lyrics as lacking depth and substance, referring to them as insignificant. He also claimed that he was equivalent to Michael Jackson in comparison to Drake being the Prince.

Expressing the impact of the verse through written words is not possible. However, when Lamar assures that he will bury all of Drake and J Cole's "followers" in the "pet sematary" - a name deriving from a 1983 horror novel by Stephen King - you can sense a strong reaction coming.

Lamar refers to the rappers' closest family and friends and not actual pet dogs.

It's important to mention that where Lamar's verse is placed is also important. Metro Boomin' used to work with Drake on music but they had a disagreement and are no longer working together.

Leland Wayne, also known as Metro, was the main producer of Drake's album in 2015 titled "What A Time To Be Alive". However, it seems that the promised continuation of the album never happened. This has led to rumors of tension between the two individuals.

During the year 2022, the creator of a musical piece named Trance made a decision to eliminate Drake's contribution and subsequently stopped tracking their account on the social media platform, Instagram.

Has Drake Admitted Defeat?

During a concert in Florida, Drake gave the impression that he wanted to respond to Kendrick's verse. He delivered a strong message to the audience in a confrontational tone.

Many individuals inquire about my current state of being," he stated. "I would like to inform you that I am doing well."

"My head is held high, my posture is strong, whether I'm in Florida or any other place. I am confident that nobody can ever challenge me in this lifetime!"

Last Friday, J Cole gave his own response to Kendrick's verse in a song on his unexpected album Might Delete Later.

Someone called me and said that someone is talking badly about you. If you want people to pay attention to you, you might have to exaggerate or add something extra. He also said that the person is still performing, but they are not as popular as they used to be, like The Simpsons.

He went on to evaluate Kendrick's body of work, describing his first release as a "timeless masterpiece," but his latest production - an extensive two-disc album titled Mr Morale and the Big Steppers - as a "melancholy disappointment."

"Your third record was huge and that was your peak," he added, "I was following closely and only recently have I reached my own peak."

He ended by expressing his continued admiration for Lamar but clarified that he would not hesitate to obliterate him if the verbal attacks persisted.

"When the time comes to perform on this microphone, I will bring him down to earth."
