2 military horses that broke free and ran loose across London are in serious condition

Horses loose in London

The situation is quite serious for two military horses in London who freaked out due to the noise of nearby construction and threw their riders. They ran for miles through the city, causing quite a stir. After undergoing medical procedures, their condition is being closely monitored by a government official.

A set of four horses made a daring escape on Wednesday during their usual exercise around Buckingham Palace. The commotion the horses caused as they galloped through central London during rush hour was quite chaotic. Unfortunately, an additional horse who attempted to flee was unable to break loose from the reins.

According to X, the British Military stated that two horses had received surgical procedures while one had been relocated to an equine medical facility.

According to defense minister James Cartlidge speaking with Sky News, three individuals are doing well. However, the unfortunate news is that two of them are in a more severe condition. The situation calls for close monitoring. While they are seriously ill, they are still found to be alive.

Three soldiers who were thrown off their horses were taken to the hospital due to their injuries, however, they are anticipated to make a complete recovery and get back to their responsibilities.

The untethered horses belonging to the Household Cavalry, who perform ceremonial duties for the monarch and participate in important events in London, have been given the monikers Vida, Quaker, Trojan, and Tennyson.

Cartlidge recognized Vida as the pale-colored equine that was observed covered in blood while it ran along Aldwych, which lies amid the noteworthy financial hub of London and the bustling theater district of the West End.

Vida was running beside a black horse named Quaker. They were seen by others hastily crossing the road when a taxi driver, who violated the red light, hit the horse while it was trying to avoid him.

While being recorded by astonished travelers and spread through online platforms, the horses came close to colliding with bikers and a motorcyclist who was waiting at a traffic signal.

People who were present reported that one of the creatures collided with a cab near the Clermont Hotel, causing the glass to break. The other one hit a sightseeing bus, breaking the front window.

Two of the horses were confined in Limehouse, which is approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers) away from the place they ran away from. All the horses that were caught were brought back to the barracks located in Hyde Park.

According to Cartlidge, the military exercises with approximately 150 horses on a daily basis, thus making the occurrence highly uncommon.

Regrettably, we have witnessed the occurrence, however, the most important aspect is that there have been no severe injuries to the community to the best of our knowledge. We will, of course, be monitoring the situation closely, as he stated in his conversation with LBC.

According to Matt Woodward, the leader of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, the horses were undergoing training for a military parade when they got frightened by the noise of construction materials being carried around in the affluent Belgravia neighborhood towards the west of the palace.

The day after the mishap, over 150 horses along with nearly 200 individuals participated in the regiment's yearly review in Hyde Park to showcase that they are prepared for summer events such as Trooping the Color and official visits.

A little group of people gathered to watch as horse riders, clothed in uniforms featuring black, red, and golden colors along with golden headgear, rode their horses at a pace set by a brass band's rhythm.
