1980s Fast Fords Sold By Car Collector - Prices Revealed!

Someone who collects old cars sold ten Fords from the 1980s and got more than £325,000 for them.

Last week, an online auction offered rare and popular motors to the highest bidder. The stash includes top-performing 'Fast Fords' from four decades ago.

A car was sold for £65,500 in the auction. The car was a 1987 Sierra RS Cosworth. Two Ford Escorts were also sold for more than £50,000 each.

The special sale will interest many young drivers from the 1980s.

The auction had really cool cars from the last 10 years. They were really popular cars like the Capri and sporty versions of the Fiesta and Escort.

Collecting Cars, a UK company selling popular cars solely on the internet, recently sold a collection of ten Fords and four other sought-after modern classic vehicles.

On Sunday night, the virtual hammer fell. The owner made a huge £325,895 from only selling Fords.

Including cars that are not produced by Ford, the total amount came to £410,895.

The sales total is amazing. This is not unexpected, as the value of performance Fords has gone up a lot in recent times.

The demand for pristine examples is massive. In the last 12 months, some have been sold for over half a million pounds.

The auction house claims that the seller spent many years gathering an amazing collection. The collection includes lightweight and analogue models, which are currently very popular.

Collecting Cars mentioned that they focused on cars that had a record of winning awards at the concours circuit. They pointed out that many of these high-performance vehicles had a significant collection of trophies.

A 1986 Sierra Cosworth was sold for £65,500 during an auction. It has been restored recently. This car brought in the most money out of all the items up for auction. The auction occurred on Sunday evening.

The 1985 Ford Escort TS Turbo won loads of awards at concours competitions. It's got 53k miles on it and sold for £57k. It was a popular item in the collection.

The 1983 Ford Escort RS1600i with 54,000 miles was a very wanted car. It's a rare homologation special in its original state. It was sold for over £50k.

The 1986 Sierra RS Cosworth made the most money. It's a fancy version of a Ford family car from the 80s.

This example has been recently restored to perfection.

The price reached a high of £65,000. This was a good deal considering a similar car sold for almost £600,000.

Most of the cars in the collection have very low mileage. They are also in original condition, with only a few having modifications.

The price for the item on sale is almost three times its original value from 38 years ago. Back then, dealers sold them for £19,950.

Last August, a Series 1 model owned and driven by Princess Diana sold for £650,000. This set an all-time record for an RS Turbo Escort. The winning bid for the current sale is much lower in comparison.

There was another popular Escort available - a 1983 RS1600i with only 54,000 miles. This type of Escort is special because it was created to meet specific racing rules. The car is also in its original condition, which is rare.

The online auction is done now. Someone won with a bid of £53,750.

One cool car in the group was a 1988 Capri 280 Brooklands. It only had 46,000 miles on it. Not many of these cars were made - only 1,038. It just got a service to get it ready to go.

Hagerty UK is an expert on classic car valuations. They said a certain car is worth £41,500. But it sold for £49,245. That's more than the estimated value.

There were some Ford models left to sell. They were listed by price from most expensive to least expensive. First was a 1987 Capri 2.8i Special for £24,250. Next was a rare 1981 Fiesta Supersport for £19,300. Then, a red 1985 Escort XR3i for £18,500. Following that was a high-value 1982 Fiesta XR2 for £16,500 and a 1983 Escort XR3i for £14,250. Finally, a well-preserved 1983 Fiesta 1.3 Ghia sold for £7,600.

There were some other cars for sale too. These cars were like the Fords for sale. One of them was a VW Corrado G60. It had done 42,000 miles. Someone bought it for £19,000. Another car was a Peugeot 205 CTI 1.6. It was made in 1992. It had only done 9,543 miles. Someone paid £17,500 for it.

There are two special Caterhams in the collection. They focus on being lightweight and good at handling, just like the Ford cars from the 1980s.

Someone bought a Seven Sprint with 493 miles for £23,500. Another person bought a Supersprint 60th Anniversary with only 449 miles for £25,000.
