Emma Stone has made over $1bn from her movies and won two Oscars using her stage name. However, she wants to be referred to by her real name, Emily.

During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Nathan Fielder, who stars with her on the bizarre television series The Curse, mentioned that Emily's colleagues and other members of the set refer to her as Emily.

Fielder mentioned that he wanted to make a statement before moving forward. He said that the person in question is named Emily, but professionally goes by Emma. He tends to refer to her as Emma for those who are not familiar with her, but he plans to use her given name, Emily, moving forward.

Stone replied that it doesn't matter how the person calls her, they can say Emma or any name they like. When asked if she would correct a fan who called her Emily, she answered that she wouldn't mind as she would actually like to be called Emily.

Stone revealed that she opted for the name Emma in her professional career due to a fellow actor already claiming her real name in the Sag-Aftra group. It is mandatory to be a part of this union for individuals who wish to pursue work in the film industry.

Emma Stone, who received the best actress award at the Oscars in 2017 for her lead role in La La Land, has now won another Oscar in 2021 for her portrayal of Bella Baxter in the movie Poor Things. The movie is a fantasy comedy set in the past and is based on a novel by author Alasdair Gray. Acclaimed filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos directed the film, which also stars Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, and Ramy Youssef.

Stone expressed admiration for Gladstone, saying she was amazed by her. She also mentioned that working with her had been an honor and hoped they could continue doing so in the future.

She ended her speech by expressing gratitude towards the crew who worked on Poor Things, which included Lanthimos. She acknowledged their efforts and said, “I am thankful to all of you for giving me the opportunity to play Bella, it's truly a gift that I'll always cherish.”

Stone expressed her gratitude to her family members which included her parents, brother, husband, and most importantly her daughter who is turning three years old soon. She stated that her daughter had brought a lot of joy into their lives and that she loved her immensely. She compared this love to the vast expanse of the sky, emphasizing its depth and significance.
