Rio believes that Liverpool is lacking the necessary speed and energy in their gameplay. He is absolutely correct. Their current approach lacks excitement as the ball meanders back and forth across the playing field.

Matip comes on for Konate. Dyche receives a yellow card for his objections.

Konate was quite lucky in that moment. Beto passed him the ball near the center circle and Beto could have escaped, but Konate stopped him. Everton's team was extremely angry and asked for Konate to be sent off, but the referee, Pawson, refused. Very quickly, Klopp instructed Matip to prepare himself for the game. Liverpool got away with something there.

The ball was struck from a broad perspective and flew far beyond the reach of the opposing corner. Liverpool has yet to put pressure on Pickford.

Beto takes over for Calvert-Lewin for the challenging task of playing as the lone striker.

Players Gravenberch and Tsimikas have left Liverpool, but now we welcome new additions Elliott and Nunez to the team.

The Liverpool substitutes seem to be very involved, which is expected since Klopp is making some changes. Liverpool hasn't been playing very well in this half, but there's still a lot of time left in the game.

Liverpool attempt to pass the ball to Diaz on the left side of the field, however, Onana closely follows Diaz's movements and prevents the ball from going in for a goal kick. Onana jumps over the advertising boards and lands in an uncomfortable manner, but fortunately, he is able to get back up without any injuries and continue playing.

The football match between Everton and Liverpool had a moment where Everton was awarded a free kick in Liverpool's half. Garner kicked the ball towards the back post and there was some back and forth of the ball between the players' heads. Eventually, the ball landed back to Garner who was positioned on the edge. He then took a shot towards the goal with a volley but unfortunately managed to kick it comically high and off target.

Everyone is pitching in here, as Salah and then Szoboszlai fire shots from a short distance away, and both are stopped by Tarkowski.

Konate receives a yellow card, and the supporters of Everton make some noise.

The current match resembles a typical team drill in which the players focus on playing only on a smaller area of the field. Everton's strategy seems to be centered around this approach. Liverpool, on the other hand, appears to have a lack of energy today and needs to pick up their game if they want to have more points and players on the field.

The latter part of the game has begun.

Keane and Patterson are taking the place of McNeil and Harrison on the Everton team. It seems like Everton is planning to use a formation with five defenders and prioritize the midfield.

Conclusion of the opening half

The score remains tied at zero at Anfield, with one team playing with eleven players and the other with ten.

Jota once again showed his swift footwork, effortlessly maneuvering past a pair of opposing players and entering the penalty area. Despite Anfield's fervent cries for a penalty, the referee deemed the tackle to be fair and did not award one.

Pickford made a big kick that reached Calvert-Lewin near Liverpool's territory. Calvert-Lewin attempted to stop the ball with his chest, but it ended up sliding away and into the possession of Alisson. Everton almost scored a goal with that one pass. On the opposite side, Szoboszlai took a powerful shot from a distance that ended up going above the goal line.

There will be at least two additional minutes.

Liverpool are creating a lot of pressure in this game, and Everton really require the halftime break to recuperate and reassess their tactics.

Tarkowski stops a hit from Szoboszlai using his stomach and falls down. The game goes on and the ball is passed to Alexander-Arnold who is on the right side. He quickly passes a low ball throughout the box. The ball looks like it's just waiting to be tapped into the goal, but sadly it goes through the entire area without anyone touching it.
