Ruth Langsford made a triumphant comeback to Loose Women today with a warm reception from the audience, following her two month break after splitting from Eamonn Holmes.

The TV personality, aged 64, was previously in a romantic partnership with the former presenter of This Morning, Holmes, since 1996. They announced on 25 May that they are going their separate ways after being married for 14 years.

From that time until now, Langsford, who worked alongside Holmes on This Morning from 2006 until they were removed in 2020, has been posting positive messages to fans from her home while taking a long break from Loose Women.

When Langsford came back to the ITV daytime panel show, her co-host Coleen Nolan stopped the show for a moment to welcome back the presenter.

Nolan expressed his joy at Langsford's return as the audience of Loose Women clapped in agreement.

"Thank goodness," Janet Street-Porter said as the cheers kept on going.

"I'm happy to be here with you again," Langsford said with a shy smile.

Before the show started, the TV host informed her followers on Instagram that she was "returning to Loose Women!" and shared a picture of the ITV studio.

Langsford has made a comeback to Loose Women following Holmes' early departure from his GB News show due to health issues earlier this month.

He left unexpectedly shortly after telling The Mirror that he felt like he didn't have much time left because his father had died of a heart attack at 65 in 1991.

The experienced broadcaster is currently experiencing ongoing pain in his back, and needed a walker with a seat at the latest TRIC Awards. He mentioned that he thought about not attending the event because of the intense pain.

Holmes discussed his separation from Langsford during his GB News morning program.

He said to the audience: "Before we continue, we want to express our gratitude for the support we've received for Ruth and myself following the news of our separation. We truly appreciate all the support from everyone."

Some believe that their marriage fell apart because their jobs kept them busy in different directions.

Holmes began seeing Langsford in 1996, which was two years after he divorced his first wife, Gabrielle. He has three children with Gabrielle. Holmes wanted to keep their relationship private, which Langsford mentioned in an interview with the Daily Mail. She said this showed what kind of person Holmes was, as well as the type of father he was and the honesty he possessed.

Holmes and Langsford had been in a relationship for six years before they had a baby together. In June 2010, they got married at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire.

Their separation will mean the end of their professional partnership. Holmes and Langsford have co-hosted several shows together over the years, such as the ITV quiz show Gift Wrapped in 2014, Channel 5's How the Other Half Lives from 2015 to 2017, and the dieting series Lose a Stone in Four Weeks, which premiered on Channel 4 in 2019.

They also presented Eamonn & Ruth’s 7 Year Itch (2017) and hosted Do The Right Thing with Eamonn and Ruth (2018-19).

In November 2020, Holmes and Langsford were very angry after being removed from This Morning in favor of Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Langsford stayed loyal to ITV and continues to appear as a host on Loose Women. Meanwhile, Holmes, a former GM:TV host, made the switch to the controversial network GB News.

In 2017, Langsford talked about her relationship with Holmes on the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. She said that while he likes to tease her, he also surprises her with his kindness.
