The Early Life of Ruth Langsford
Ruth Langsford was born on March 17, 1960, in Singapore. Her father was in the British Army, which meant that the family had to travel extensively during her early years, before settling down in England. Ruth attended the mixed independent school, Salt Grammar School, located in Saltergate, Chesterfield. Following this, she graduated from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, with a degree in psychology.
Before entering the media industry, Ruth worked briefly as a continuity announcer for 'Central Television', a local news station in the Midlands. After this, she began her career as a presenter for a range of shows, including 'The Really Useful Show', 'The Shopping Channel', and 'Fort Boyard', to name a few. Ruth rose to fame in 1999 with her role on the hit show 'This Morning,' where she currently works as a presenter alongside her husband, Eamonn Holmes.
