Rishi Sunak sparked anger when he made a jest about the characterization of a woman in the House of Commons while Brianna Ghey's mother, who lost her trans daughter to violence, was present at the parliament.

During the Prime Minister's Question Time, there was a disagreement between the Prime Minister and Keir Starmer regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding trans issues. This happened just as Esther Ghey was scheduled to attend the session as a spectator and only a few days after her daughter's murderers were sentenced to life imprisonment.

Sunak leveled an accusation at the opposition leader, stating that he lacked the ability to properly define a woman. This was just one of several areas where he had reversed his position.

However, his mocking comment caused a lot of backlash from Members of Parliament, who criticized him for making a heartless joke, exhibiting disgraceful behavior, and using marginalized groups as the butt of his humor.

Following the intense disputes, the Labour party demanded an apology from Mr. Sunak, however, Downing Street supported the actions of the prime minister, stating that they were "valid".

Brianna's father, Peter Spooner, was very upset about the comments made by Mr. Sunak. He felt that they were insensitive and disrespectful. Peter demanded an apology for these remarks and expressed how disgusted he was by them. He added that these comments were degrading and completely stripped Brianna of her human identity.

Today in parliament, Esther Ghey, the mother of Brianna Ghey, was present.

The argument became more intense when Kemi Badenoch, the business secretary, claimed that the Labour party was using the topic for their own political gain.

Mr Sunak's critics are likely to use the incident as more proof that he is out of touch, but his supporters deny this accusation.

During the disagreement, Mr Sunak alleged that the leader of Labour party had violated promises that he had made when he was chosen. In addition, Mr Starmer had reversed his position on characterizing the term "woman", although it was only a partial U-turn of 99 percent, to be fair.

The insensitive comments were regarding Mr. Starmer's previous statement that "the vast majority of women do not possess male genitalia."

Mr. Starmer was very displeased and scolded the Tory leader right away. He expressed his frustration saying, "Out of all the weeks to make such an insensitive comment, especially with Brianna's mother present in this room. How shameful."

He blamed the Prime Minister for pretending to be an honest person without any accountability, while voices of disapproval were heard from the members who sit behind the main seats.

He stated: "In my opinion, the prime minister has the responsibility of ensuring that each and every individual living within the country feels secure and valued. Unfortunately, it's a disappointment that the prime minister doesn't agree with this."

It was later found out that Brianna's mother was not present in the Commons hall when Mr. Starmer and Mr. Sunak had an argument. However, they both believed that she was there.

for claiming that it is dishonest to say that there is a choice between protecting public health and protecting the economy. During the questions, Labour leader Keir Starmer accused Sunak of being out of touch with the reality of people's lives during the pandemic, and of failing to provide adequate financial support to those who need it most. Starmer also argued that the government's handling of the pandemic has led to a "false choice" between health and the economy because it has failed to get the virus under control. Sunak defended his comments, stating that the government has provided significant financial support, including job retention schemes and business grants, to aid individuals and companies affected by the pandemic. Sunak emphasized the importance of taking a balanced approach between protecting public health and protecting the economy, rather than choosing one over the other. Despite Sunak's defense, critics argue that the government's financial aid measures have not been enough to prevent a significant number of job losses and business closures, particularly in sectors such as hospitality and retail. Furthermore, the failure to control the spread of the virus has led to renewed lockdown measures, causing further economic damage. Overall, many people believe that the government needs to do more to both control the virus and support individuals and businesses affected by the pandemic, rather than focusing solely on protecting either public health or the economy.

She came shortly after that.

When questioned about the comments made by Sky News, Mr Spooner responded in the evening by stating that the prime minister's derogatory remarks were completely degrading and diminish one's value as a human being. It does not matter if the statements were related to parliamentary discussions, they should not have been said.

The way people's identities were used is not acceptable and it is very surprising to me that he made such comments. I strongly believe he owes an apology for what he said.

The mistake is the most recent in a sequence of political errors made by the Prime Minister. He received negative feedback for making a wager of £1,000 with Piers Morgan that flights for deportation to Rwanda would occur before the general election, and for a humiliating incident where he snickered while a mother begged him to reduce NHS waiting times for her child.

Despite making a derogatory comment earlier, Mr Sunak didn't express any regret for it. However, towards the end of PMQs, he acknowledged Ms Ghey by commending her for her kindness and understanding. He emphasized that he believed she showcased the finest qualities of humanity despite being exposed to the worst facets of human behavior.

Keir Starmer scolded the Conservative leader for his statement, commenting that it was inappropriate to say so while Brianna's mother was present in the room. How shameful!

Jaime Wallis, a Tory MP who happens to be the UK's initial transgender MP, voiced out his opinion regarding Mr. Sunak's remark, stating that it was insensitive. He also mentioned that he understands the prime minister's behavior and believes that it wasn't intended. While he acknowledges that it has been a challenging day for him, his thoughts are currently with Brianna's mother. He urges everyone to consider her as they navigate the discussion on how to move forward.

An ex-Tory official stated that they were shocked and disgusted.

Dehenna Davidson, a member of the Conservative Party who is not in a leadership position, expressed her disappointment over the derogatory jokes that were made against the trans community. She emphasized that our words have a strong impact on our society, and we should be mindful of this. Meanwhile, Anneliese Dodds, the chair of the Labour Party, criticized the Prime Minister for repeatedly using LGBT+ individuals as the subject of offensive jokes. She described his most recent statement as a shameful and unacceptable act.

Jess Phillips from the Labour party referred to the prime minister as "completely shameful" in her statement.

She expressed her opinion on social network X, previously known as Twitter, saying that Rishi Sunak is a complete embarrassment. She called out the man for being heartless, clueless, and having no sense. The writer believes that it is better for everyone if Rishi Sunak were removed from office as soon as possible.

She said: "I can't believe he would behave so disgustingly in front of the family of a murdered child. He is despicable and has no morals."

Ben Bradshaw, a member of the Labour party and one of the first openly homosexual MPs to be elected, referred to Mr. Sunak as a reprehensible individual and alleged that he made comments that were hurtful towards the transgender community.

Number 10 supported Mr. Sunak's statement as "valid" and did not exclude the possibility of him making similar remarks in the future.

The spokesperson for the prime minister's press stated that it was reasonable for Mr. Sunak to highlight the numerous policy reversals made by the opposition leader. The spokesperson also denied that the prime minister had made derogatory remarks about transgender individuals.

When Sir Keir had a meeting with Brianna's mother, she requested him to help improve mental health support for children and young people. Sir Keir promised to collaborate with campaigners and parents like Esther to make sure that necessary mental health assistance is available.

Ms. Badenoch responded, stating that every murder is a great loss and should not be exploited for political gains. She sympathized with Esther Ghey, understanding the pain and suffering she must be going through as a mother.

Starmer displayed a lack of dignity by connecting his own confusion regarding sex and gender to the mourning of this individual.

As an official responsible for both women and equality, I have made every effort to calm down the discussion around LGBT matters while also stating our beliefs and standards clearly.

Keir Starmer's conduct today indicates that the Labour party is willing to use this matter as a tool whenever convenient.

During the Tory conference speech in Manchester last year, Mr Sunak expressed that he did not believe in the idea that people could choose their own gender. He stated that a man is always going to be a man and a woman is always going to be a woman. He also added that it's not right to be pressured into thinking otherwise.

Stonewall, a charity that supports the LGBT+ community, criticized the remarks made by Mr. Sunak as being insensitive, lacking in compassion and offensive.
