Paris Saint-Germain managed to triumph over their bitter rivals, Marseille, 2-0 in the Ligue 1 game on Sunday. The game wasn't without controversy when one of PSG's players was sent off in the first half, which only heightened the tension. Nevertheless, the Portuguese duo, Vitinha and Goncalo Ramos, showed their worth by scoring the two goals that ultimately secured PSG's victory.

Marseille had a chance to finally achieve a victory against PSG in their home match after nine years, but their hopes went up when Lucas Beraldo got expelled five minutes before the half-time whistle.

However, the club owned by Qatar emerged victorious. Vitinha passed the ball with Ousmane Dembele before scoring an incredible first goal in the 53rd minute on a rainy night at the Velodrome.

Marseille attempted to score a goal to make the score even, but unfortunately, Jordan Veretout's goal was invalidated for being offside due to his fellow team member Luis Henrique.

Luis Enrique, head coach of PSG, decided to substitute the team's captain, Kylian Mbappe, a little over an hour into the game. Taking his place was Ramos, who secured the victory with a goal scored in the last five minutes of play.

A score was made during a fast attack, where the away team kicked the ball far away following a corner. Achraf Hakimi then passed the ball to Marco Asensio who spotted Sergio Ramos and passed the ball to him allowing him to confidently score his 10th goal this season.

PSG's top scorer this season, in all competitions, is Mbappe with 38 goals.

PSG finished the weekend in the same position they began, with a lead of 12 points over the team in second place, Brest. Brest won their match 1-0 against Lorient earlier in the day.

There are only seven matches left in the season, and PSG only requires 10 additional points to secure their 10th championship in just 12 years.

The main topic of discussion during the evening revolved around Beraldo's red card, which was given to the young Brazilian defender after he was signed earlier this year in January.

He stood alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and pushed the forward down past the middle of the field near the right sideline.

During the game, he had already received a warning from the referee, but he managed to avoid getting a second one. However, referee Benoit Bastien went to the VAR monitor to review a certain play. It was unexpected when he ultimately decided to give a direct red card to Beraldo, citing that he was the last defender.

Despite having an extra player on the field, Marseille failed to make the most of the situation and as a result, they have now suffered two consecutive losses in the league. This has left them in seventh position, with a three-point gap separating them from the European spots.

Paris Saint-Germain will play against Rennes in their home ground during the French Cup semi-finals on Wednesday. After that, they will have their first match against Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League one week later.
