On Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain was victorious in the French Cup final against Lyon with a score of 2-1, allowing them to end their season with a domestic treble. It was also Kylian Mbappé's final game for the club.
The team who won both the Ligue 1 and French Super Cup games were in control during the initial part of the match played at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille. They have now won their 15th Cup title, breaking their own record and this victory is their first one since 2021.

PSG took the lead in the 23rd minute with a goal from Ousmane Dembélé who was unmarked in the six-yard area. Nuno Mendes delivered a perfect cross and Dembélé coolly headed the ball into the net. Fabio Ruiz then added to the advantage by scoring a goal from a very difficult position after his initial attempt was blocked.
In the second half of the match, Lyon managed to score a goal when Jake O'Brien used his height advantage to score from a corner. However, PSG's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made a spectacular save just a few minutes later.

Mbappé, who is PSG's leading scorer of all time, was unable to score in his last match with the team. So, his total number of goals stands at 256 after playing in 308 games during his seven-year tenure.

Before the final, there was a clash between Lyon and PSG fans on a highway leading to Stade Pierre-Mauroy. French President Emmanuel Macron spoke out against this violence.
Fans threw flares while damaging the windows of busses full of supporters. The nearby police department stated that they promptly intervened to stop the fighting. On X platform, they also verified that the busses were harmed.
