On Wednesday, PSG's Mbappe got a goal during the first game of the last-16 Champios League win against Real Sociedad.

Kylian Mbappe, the striker for France, has informed Paris St-Germain that he plans to depart from the team when the current season concludes.

The 25-year-old professional soccer player's contract with Ligue 1 champions will soon be over and many reports suggest he might join Real Madrid.

PSG's refusal to let Mbappe leave caused a lot of tension and disagreement about his future.

At a certain moment, Mbappe was banished from the main team and not included in the club's summer trip to Asia.

Yet, a deal has been made which guarantees that PSG won't be at a disadvantage once Mbappe departs in the future. Nevertheless, the specifics of his expected departure have yet to be determined.

The striker has a clause that allows him to extend his contract for another year, which means that when he leaves, he will either be sold for a fee or have to make some financial compromises to agree to the move.

Although PSG would have preferred to keep Mbappe on their team, it seems likely that he will depart as they strive to construct a younger squad and move away from the strategy of signing only superstar players, a plan that has resulted in the departures of Lionel Messi from Argentina and Neymar from Brazil, among others, since the end of last season.

According to forecasts, Mbappe, the French player who conquered the World Cup in 2018, makes approximately €200m per annum (£171m).

At the moment, PSG are way ahead of the team in second place, Nice, by a staggering 11 points at the summit of the French league. On top of this, they have also secured a spot to go against Nice in the quarter-finals of the national cup.

On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the champions of France, won their first game against Real Sociedad in the round of 16 of the Champions League, with Mbappe scoring the first goal. The final result was 2-0.

He scored his fourth goal in the top European competition of this season. In the current campaign, he has 20 goals in the domestic league.

In summary, his total record at PSG includes 243 goals and 93 assists across a span of 290 games, resulting in the team achieving success with five Ligue 1 championship victories.

Mbappe secured a championship title in the French top-tier football league while playing for Monaco, and afterwards signed with PSG at the age of 18 in 2017. He was initially on loan, but later made a permanent transfer valued at 180 million euros (£165.7m).

In a total of 60 matches played for Monaco, he was able to score 27 goals and contribute to 13 more goals through assists.

Mbappe had plans to depart from PSG without any transfer fee when the 2021-22 season came to a close. However, he eventually chose to prolong his stay by agreeing to a two-year contract extension, with the chance to extend for one additional year.

Yet, once Mbappe informed PSG that he wouldn't accept the extra year in his contract, he wasn't chosen to join the team on their trip to Japan for pre-season in July.

Later on, he declined the invitation to have a meeting with delegates from the Saudi professional football league team Al-Hilal, who put forward an astounding £259m offer for his services.

After some "very constructive and positive" discussions, the striker rejoined the first-team training, as per PSG.

Mbappe refused to transfer to Real Madrid when he made a commitment to stay with PSG in May 2022.

Mbappe managed to score three goals in the 2022 World Cup final, but unfortunately, his team lost as Argentina won in a penalty shootout. Following the retirement of Hugo Lloris from his Les Bleus duty, Mbappe was chosen as the new captain for the French team.
