But with Liam and his brother Noel at the height of their career with their band, Lethal Weapon star Patsy had to make the decision on whether her love for Liam came first or her work.
Daily Star has taken a look inside Patsy and Liam's relationship.
Instant connection
After her divorce from Jim Kerr, Patsy met Noel who she said was "the love of her life".
She and Oasis' Liam met on a plane in 1995 and seemed to hit it off right away.
Although Patsy was often accused that she may dismantle the band by pulling the singer away, fans were fascinated by their union.
Speaking to The Mirror about their relationship, Patsy said: "We just clicked on every level. He was protective and loving.
"When we were together there were fireworks, and a chemistry that lasted to the end."
Patsy has always insisted that she went into the relationship with her eyes open and she knew of his past infidelities with other women.
In April 1997, Patsy and married at Marylebone Town Hall in London and the pair welcomed their son two years later who they named John Lennon.
On the rocks
Patsy admitted to the Mirror in 2013 that she often felt that she wasn't married to Liam whenever he left their family home in London to work with Oasis.
However she was also aware that he was often faced with temptation being part of one of the biggest bands in the world at the time.
"After weeks of being inseparable he’d walk out the door and be gone for weeks and it was as if we weren’t married,” she said.
"I knew full well the temptation that was thrown his way and inevitably it caused huge problems between us."
She added: "When he wasn’t on tour we were joined at the hip and he always wanted to be with me – even if I was going to the supermarket for a pint of milk."
Cheating
During the course of their marriage, Manchester native Liam had an affair with Lisa Moorish which resulted in the birth of his daughter Molly, 22, in 1998.
However Patsy said she already knew that Liam was cheating throughout their marriage.
She previously said: "I’d heard all the rumours about his womanising and I knew exactly what was going on behind my back.
"Liam was very young and I could also see the temptations surrounding him. I wasn’t naïve about how intoxicating it can be – and it was all new to Liam."
Desperate to make her marriage work, Patsy also admitted that she turned down a role in hit sitcom Friends in attempt to save her relationship.
Divorce
The couple decided to call time on their marriage in 2000.
In London Divorce Court, a district judge granted Patsy an undefended decree nisi which is a ruling which takes effect immediately.
The judge concluded that the rocker's conduct had been so unacceptable that Patsy should no remain married to him.
Sharing her thoughts on her divorce at the time, Patsy said: "It's impossible for me to go on any longer. I did my best and I got absolutely no help in return. It's over. I'm actually relieved."
Speaking in 2020, Oasis star Liam did admit that he wished he did things differently in his personal life.
He said: "Probably personal stuff. Breaking up marriages, being a bit of a f*****g idiot with the kids.
"D*****g people about, upsetting them. But other than that… haha!"
