BBC Eastenders cancelled and pulled from air in schedule change

BBC Eastenders has confirmed a huge schedule change as the FA cup continues. On Wednesday 8 February, Fulham and Sunderland will replay their game on BBC One instead of on Tuesday 7th.

The fixture will take place at 7:30pm - during Eastenders slot. Eastenders will now air on Tuesday rather than on Wednesday with Waterloo Road and Sort Your Life Out with Stacey Solomon also airing after the episode.

The soap is currently running a number of hard-hitting storylines including fan favourite Lola Pearce's terminal brain tumour and 12-year-old Lily Slater's pregnancy.

There are plenty of characters making a debut in the Square with Patsy Kensit having just joined the soap as Lola's mother Emma. Lily's dad Ryan Malloy will also make a brief return in February.

This isn't the first time that soap fans have been subject to schedule changes. Coronation Street, EastEnders and Waterloo Road have all previously being impacted by FA Cup matches, the Queen's death and the World Cup most recently.

Last week, Corrie's classic schedule was moved from its usual Friday night slot at 8pm in favour of a day-early episode release on Thursday evening instead. This was to account for the airing of the fourth-round FA Cup tie between Manchester City and Arsenal.
