Kylie Minogue apologises for being a 'despicable person' after sweary outbursts on tour
Kylie Minogue playfully joked about being a terrible person while sharing the demanding conditions of her music tour.
At 56, Kylie is celebrated as a gay icon and is recognized more for her status as a pop princess than for being a fiery diva.
In a recent interview, the pop star revealed that touring can become quite hectic, especially when stress levels rise.
The star revealed that during her performance, she changes her outfit multiple times, and quick costume changes behind the scenes are necessary to keep up with the fast pace of the show.
"It's chaotic and extremely overwhelming," she shared in a conversation with the BBC. "I might use some strong language."
"All it takes is one mishap, and everyone starts to panic."
She said, "I happened to walk through the wardrobe department during a recent job, and I couldn’t help but apologize, claiming I was a terrible person."
They said something like, "What goes on during quick change stays in quick change."
During the same interview, the star shared some insider stories about how she quickly changes outfits behind the scenes.
Kylie shared a funny tale about how she ate oysters right before stepping onto the stage to boost her performance.
"I’ve experimented with a variety of options... someone once suggested trying oysters, so I went ahead and had a few, simply for convenience."
"I’ve come across a bad oyster at least once, maybe even took a bite before realizing it was off. In that moment, I thought to myself, 'This is what I need—a helping hand.' I can almost picture myself spitting it out into someone’s palm."
The celebrity reminisced about the beginning of her career and discussed the challenges she encountered, including the negativity directed at her as a young woman starting out.
"It wasn't right for people to be so cruel," she stated. "And it wasn't just some faceless individual hiding behind a screen."
"These were mature individuals who likely should have acted more responsibly."
When she was questioned about how she managed to persevere through such difficult times.
"Honestly, I'm not really sure why I pushed through," she responds. "But one positive aspect was that I had a job, and I had to be there every day."
There were definitely moments when I just wanted to retreat and disappear. But having the responsibility of performing is beneficial because it forces you to be present. Once you're there, you get caught up in everything around you.
