A member of the England women's national soccer team has been brought to court for being found in possession of nitrous oxide, also known as 'hippy crack', following a car accident.

Khiara Keating, a 20-year-old goalkeeper for Manchester City women's team, has been representing England at the junior level since she was just 15 years old. Last October, she was called up to the senior squad for the Lionesses.

She is a substitute goalkeeper for Manchester United, supporting Mary Earps. Despite not playing in a match yet, she is considered a rising star. She received high praise for her excellent performances in the 22 games she played for City last season.

Yesterday, she was seen in court at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court with her mother Nicola, 48. Both women are facing charges of having nitrous oxide, which is also called laughing gas.

England Lioness goalkeeper Khiara Keating, age 20, was seen in court facing allegations of having a substance called 'hippy crack' nitrous oxide in her possession (shown in a photo during training on July 8th).

Keating is facing allegations of possessing a Class C substance, commonly referred to as hippy crack or laughing gas. She was photographed arriving at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

If someone is caught with class C drugs, they could face up to two years in prison.

In court, the prosecutor, Jonathan Potter, said that Khiara Keating was behind the wheel of a white Mercedes A Class on June 18, driving along Queen's Road in Manchester when she collided with a central reservation.

The cops showed up and she confessed to using her phone while driving. They tested her for alcohol, but the results were negative. They then checked the car and discovered rubber balloons in both the passenger and driver doors, along with 11 canisters of a Class C substance.

During the court session, it was revealed that Keating was on his way back home from a vacation when the accident occurred.

However, both women entered pleas of innocence and the hearing was postponed until September 10. It will then be reviewed by a district judge for case management and pre-trial review.

Keating was a member of the Lioness team that journeyed to Gothenburg, Sweden, earlier this month as England competed for a spot in Euro 2025.

Khiara Keating, from Openshaw, Manchester, joined City for the first time when she was 17. In November, she agreed to a contract that will keep her with the team until 2027. In the photo below, she is seen arriving in Gothenburg, Sweden on July 17 for the Lioness's Euro 2025 qualifier match.

The champions moved on to the finals after a tie with Sweden, securing second place in the group behind the first place team, France.

Keating, from Openshaw, Manchester, started playing for City when she was 17. In November of last year, she signed a contract that will keep her with the team until 2027.

Following the renewal of her contract, she stated: 'I feel a great sense of pride for myself and my family as a Manchester City player each and every day.'

The female head coach Gareth Taylor mentioned, "It's easy to see the influence she has had both on and off the field."
