Ivan Toney Joins Al-Ahli In Saudi Arabian League

Head coach Thomas Frank expressed his satisfaction in collaborating with Ivan for the past four years.

"He has scored over one goal for every two games on average, which is an impressive statistic."

"He's been amazing at scoring goals, creating connections between players, and taking charge on the field. He's motivated the team, the group of players, and himself."

Frank said: "We have had an amazing experience together. Ivan has played a key role in benefiting both the club and the team, and in return, the club and team have supported Ivan."

I am glad that he has a chance to experience something different in his life and career. We are grateful for all the amazing memories he has given us and we wish him success in his future endeavors. Ivan is departing as a beloved figure in the Brentford community.

Following two seasons with Peterborough United where he scored 49 goals and provided 15 assists, Toney joined Brentford in August 2020.

He scored 10 goals in 10 league games when he arrived, and finished the regular season by breaking the record for the most goals scored in a Championship season with 31 goals, while also giving 10 assists.

He scored two goals in the play-offs, with the second goal being a typical penalty that helped Brentford on their journey to promotion with a 2-0 victory over Swansea City at Wembley Stadium.

Toney settled into the Premier League effortlessly, netting 32 goals and setting up nine goals in his first two seasons in the league.

He was selected to play for England in March 2023 and made history as the third Brentford player ever to represent the national team when he played his first match against Ukraine in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Toney's 2022/23 season came to an abrupt end when he received an eight-month suspension. It wasn't until January 2024 that he was able to compete again.

He made a goal during his comeback game against Nottingham Forest, with a free kick. This caught the attention of Gareth Southgate, who was impressed with his penalty skills, leading to his selection for the England team in Euro 2024.

The 28-year-old helped Harry Kane score the winning goal against Slovakia in the round of 16 and also scored during the Three Lions' penalty shootout victory against Switzerland in the quarter-final.
